Looking only forward, as Obama has stated on many occasions, is a death knoll and has proved to be over the course of history. It is akin to going through life with blinders on.

Looking only forward, as Obama has stated on many occasions, is a death knoll and has proved to be over the course of history. It is akin to going through life with blinders on.

Looking at a few examples of this one can look back some 70 years to the power grab by Adolph Hitler and his Nazi movement. The springboard for that movement was the Reichstag fire which enabled Hitler to pass the Enabling Act to supposedly protect the German people from the terror of communists.

Nobody questioned the fact that immediately following the mass murders of 9/11 the Bush/Cheney cabal came up with the USPATRIOT Act for the same reasons. To this day people will tell you how safe they feel as a result of having their freedoms taken away.

Looking back in history, and learning from it, may have at least had more Congressmen (meant as a group, not gender) read the damned thing prior to voting on it. It also may have had more American citizens stand up against it. However, we had then, and still have, far too many “NotSees” who do not look back and do not see what has happened to our nation.

In order to better spread his propaganda Hitler handed out free radios to the people. The radios could only broadcast those stations Hitler had programmed into them.

People are finally becoming aware of the corporate media propaganda machine, headed up by Ruppert Murdoch through his Fox empire, but more importantly through his majority position in DirecTV. Prior to his gaining the majority stations such as CNN were fairly even in their “news”, however, they now are in line with Fox News and will report on the same stories, even using the same words. MSNBC, which has attempted to be fair and balanced, but not totally succumbing to the “agenda points” distributed to them, is being disciplined by DirecTV in that their programming is now being provided in places on the West Coast only as an “extra” package which costs an addition sum to those wishing to receive it.

Another example of not looking back may have prevented the present financial robbery taking place in our country and the globe. Only going back a scant 2 decades would show us the Savings & Loan swindle. That robbery was caused by greed and scams similar to the present day rip off. Those who have perpetrated the present rip off, however, did look back and learned how to do their theft without going to jail. As one looks at those who are entering the prison walls one fails to see any of the mega corporate financial individuals.

Now we come to Obama and his failure to look into the recent past. Forging ahead without taking actions against those who committed war crimes and crimes against humanity will only set the precedent for similar, even more egregious actions in the future.

We have already given up our democracy, now we give up our moral fiber. Is there anything left?
