A poem in light of the current political season

::::::::

Logic spanked

We worship the ones

Who die for our sins

And go on as before

With our nervous grins

Smothered in guilt on needles

And pins

The ones that are here

That represent god

Want us down on our knees

And trying real hard

We have global positioning

To see where we are

We think that we’re smart

But we haven’t come far

All the high tech

And all the king’s men

Won’t put our humpty dumpty

World together again

The greed and the violence

That got us to here

Fresh out of oil and living in fear

They lie from above

And they lie from below

They give ice in the winter

And put blood in the snow

I know one thing that’s probably true

It can’t last much longer,

But what can you do?

With all the kind words

When push comes to shove

We have no bananas

And we’re fresh outa love
