Life on the Rez--Lakota Woman Tells the Hard Truth

Native peoples have a strong heart and much wisdom. For years they battled the whites and now they are battling the white man's culture of poverty and drugs.

It is a fight they will not lose. But they do need help.

Thanks.... our Lakota women here on the Pine Ridge Reservation are in dire need of help... For example some have large familys with no food or clothing for their kids. Some are homeless and loose thier children to the State system because our government officials fail to remember us... only themselves. Some are victims of violence. With never getting any justice for themselves or thier children.

People of the world say they want to learn about the Lakota culture and that's fine. But, there is more to us than a few feathers and prayers. When our women and children are hurting so is our nation. Some of our sisters homes are dilapidated and condemned. There is no running water, no electricity. We as Lakota Women can't ALONE help ourselves in this area. I will do what ever i can to help my Lakota sisters in need of help. They called upon me to ask for help for them. And as a Lakota Warrior i will take the stand. I am asking that if you have friends that can help us please let them know that we greatly appreciate your love and offerings... In what ever way you can help.. Please get back to me. I do Have a list of Lakota women and families... There names and ages....

I work as a school counselor and mental health counselor in Gallup New Mexico.
