Luke Russert has grounds for suing William Kristol for libeling his father, Tim Russert. Kristol associates Tim Russert with his criminal idols, George Bush, Dick Cheney, Karl Rove, David Addington, and the rest of his neocon cabal. You have to be at the bottom of the barrel to get praise from William Kristol.

::::::::

In his New York Times June 16 column, William Kristol writes laudatorially and with fulsome praise for Tim Russert. Kristol has placed Russert in the same category of criminals such as George Bush, Dick Cheney, Karl Rove, David Addington and his other neocon partners in neocon ideology, obfuscation, manipulation and lies. Criminals that he has also written laudatorially and with fulsome praise about, just as he has done to Tim Russert.

Kristol has spoken favorably of the Republicans and neocons who have started illegal wars, bankrupted the country, profited from their war crimes, approved of torture, ignored the Constitution and lied about all of that.

To speak favorably of Tim Russert in the same way that he spoke favorably of the people who have committed those crimes is to libel Tim Russert by association.

For William Kristol to speak favorably of someone, they must be those who adhere to the Bush and neocon ideology that it's perfectly all right to do anything necessary to subvert the Constitution, to pervert all the accepted standards of morals and ethics. For that, they are praiseworthy, according to Kristol.

William Kristol has had nothing but praise for people who have done those things, things that he approves of whole-heartedly.

Placing Tim Russert in the same category is a slur on him. It's a disservice to him. It is libel by association. If I were Luke Russert, I would be outraged at Kristol for associating my father with the likes of George Bush by placing the same praise on him as he does on George Bush.

Tim Russert has never done any of the despicable things that George Bush has done. He doesn't deserve to be praised by Kristol in the way Kristol praises George Bush.

Kristol's praise of Tim Russert will be a blot on Russert's reputation. Russert would have been better served if Kristol had spoken ill of him. That would have made it clear that Kristol does not think of him as he does of the criminal he so admires, George Bush.

The thing that Luke Russert has to be concerned about is that you have to be pretty far down in the bottom of the barrel for William Kristol to speak favorably about you.

Luke Russert has the right to demand that Kristol's praise of Tim Russert be withdrawn and an apology issued, considering that Kristol only holds in high esteem and only praises the worst of the immoral and unethical.
