To paraphrase the Buddha, hatred can never vanquish hatred, only love can conquer hatred, so assuming The Enlightened One remotely knew what he was talking about, how could the so-called "War on Terror" ever be anything but the grotesque and murderous cycle of violence that it has become? But there is another way and it begins by embracing the goal of 9/21, the United Nations International Day of Peace.

The goal of Peace One Day, the organization established by Jeremy Gilley and his friends, was to first create a global day of ceasefire and peace on Sept 21st and then not only celebrate that, but more importantly, then begin to move humanity away from the awful culture of war to a wondrous culture of peace. So America really has two choices here. She can continue to cling to the tragedy of 9/11 as a giant grievance to stab our emotions with, forever exacerbating the violent emotions that have fueled an hysterical, global Crusade until we self-destruct in an ocean of negativity, or we can begin to seek the Light of Love and Unity that can dispel the darkness.
