Condoleeza Rice's PEEVED correction of the word "ESCALATION" to be "AUGMENTATION" seems like just another attempt to DOWNPLAY or euphemistically characterize this latest Bush ESCALATION of the IRAQ WAR. Look up the word "AUGMENT", Dr. Rice. In Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary it will tell you it means "to make greater, more numerous, larger, or more intense". In the thesaurus the synonyms of "multiply, enlarge, expand, increase, ramp up." ARE FOUND. ...Didn't the electorate in the Midterm elections REACT to this administration's half-truths and attempts to deceive, spin and lie? I have NO DOUBT they were considering THOSE as emblematic, symptomatic and clear evidence of the climate of CORRUPTION they were including while giving Bush THAT "THUMPIN'".
However, the only way Bush knows how to behave is to damn the truth, damn the constitution, damn the law and do as he wishes. Removal of him from office is the only cure.
