A few members commented on my article of a few days ago, OpEdNews; Beyond a News Site-- it's your community, suggesting that the articles with the most comments, and most dynamic conversation scroll off the main headlines too fast. They suggested they be kept up as headlines longer.
I don't think that a news site can keep an article up as a headline for a few days, but we do have an alternate solution.
On the left navigation bar, there's a link Headlines that makes the middle column a list of the headlined articles of the past few seven or eight days, where you're most likely to find the most commented articles. We're going to look into providing another column option for most commented articles, but meanwhile, this is a close solution.
I encourage you to use the Headlines link often, and to follow up on the articles to see the latest comments. If it's been a day since I've checked the comments for an article, I'll use the CONTROL F function to search for the current date, to see the latest comment postings.
