The tension is mounting in this election and the low minded and fearful spew and spit upon those who point out that the emperor has no clothes and neither do they.Unpleasant truths upset the herd and those who dwell in that herd mentality. It is a deep and terrible shame the way the ruling powers of our world have fashioned our chains and we step willingly into them. We fear entire societies and in our fear we act in ways that call our worst fears to us with a undeniable and deadly certainty.
FDR said "We have nothing to fear but fear itself" and it is not only true today it is also the key to understanding and ending what is destroying us all. Never before in our nations history has fear been used in the way Hitler used it, never before has our own aggression been wrapped solemnly in the flag and then shoved down our throats.
It is time to stop this madness. It is time to take a long hard look where world change begins, within ourselves, and look upon that which we have created and judge it soundly and with a simple test, does it serve you? Does it serve you to fear those who are different than you or does it make things worse for all? Does it serve you to not seek a way that is fair to all people? What is to be done with those who are left behind? The answer to that question defines us. Who are you?
So, if you need your cynicism...fine...but keep it to yourself.
If you can't look into the light because you see your ugliness to clearly...then stay in the dark...but do not even think of trying to drag me into that hole with you.
I was a child who was sexually abused for many years...I know all to well what fear and hate can do to a person...and I have worked so very hard to fight my way out of it and into a place of peace and light. So, don't even think of asking me to join you in the darkness of fear and hate...I will fight you to the death for living in fear is death anyway.
I leave you with this quote from a wise man....
If your morals make you dreary, depend upon it they are wrong. I do not say "give them up," for they may be all you have; but conceal them like a vice, lest they should spoil the lives of better and simpler people.
Robert Louis Stevenson
