OpEdNews - Diary: Karzai's Afghanistan and the Timetable

This will be a short blog, there's just not much to say about it. Karzai has to learn how to do more than just steal elections, he needs to unite Afghanistan and begin to do what real governments do, provide services to the people, build infrastructure like roads, organize local governments. The USA can not build the Nation, the Afghan people have to do that and this Karzai is either the solution or he's the impediment, the problem.

So what's it going to be Karzai, greedy deep pockets war lord, or statesman nation builder, that builds a nation for all Afghans? Is it all going to be guns and dictator type dominance, or can there be a social order in Afghanistan built on community, ethics, and peaceful cooperation between all those who would call themselves, Afghans?

Will Afghanistan create education centers or will there just be religious madness and hate?

The USA can only do so much, we may be there for all the wrong reasons but we are there and we do have people who can point the way towards a civilized society. Wouldn't it be great if, while trying to escalate this war that suddenly the Afghan people stood up and made Peace break out instead?

The decision has been made, it is time to hope for the best outcome. The Timetable must stand, Karzai, the timetable is all about you, bud, lead, follow or get out of the way

I would consider this as simply an open letter to Hamid Karzai from me, an American.
