So the mad rush to total chaos and mass-multiplied carnage is fully underway, now that a month has passed since Bush's "announcement" that he's tossing one more big handful of dice against his cousin's second mortgage in the hopes that somehow it might come up "Yahtzee".Somehow I don't think so.
Neither does the U.S. Intelligence community, which just released a carefully-worded N.I.E. that essentially says the situation is hopeless and somewhere between a complete disaster and a total catastrophe.
How encouraging. This is from the CIA, etc.
And like I said, it was very carefully worded and still couldn't help but sound like a clarion call for a complete change of policy.
But that doesn't seem to be in the offing.
Anyway, I re-present my article breaking down and rebutting his speech, as I think it's even more relevant today.
