I would hope some of you that are better skilled than myself will take on geeting a petition that we can all sign and send to Congress

::::::::

As this financial disaster grows daily, I am seeing more and more obstructionism from Democrats with regards to the Obama stimulus plan. Today, John Kerry went on the record with his uncertainty for the size of the program, as did Kent Conrad Dem. ND. John Kerry, a candidate that could not beat the most un-popular president in the country’s history, said he did not support a tax credit for businesses that hired new employees. Tax credits and I am sure you know the difference, in that the tax credits come directly off the taxpayers tax bill. In the 70’s I was able to rationalize the purchase of a piece of heavy equipment because I got a tax credit. Tax credits do work. Mitch McConnell also got in front of the cameras stating his concern about the size of the plan. I got my Wachovia statement today----and 8 years ago when I opened this account it was with A.G. Edwards, which now I think is Wells Fargo----but that account is now down 50%. If it was originally for 1 million it would now be 500 and were it 100,000 it is now 50. Half is half and no matter how much it was it is now worth half. I see this as critical as it can get, knowing that it probably will get worse, but for certain and sure it is not the time to get skittish about the size of this plan. I would think it wise for John Kerry to put his silver spoon down, put his wind surfer in the barn, and get the hell to work. The only political entity that is held lower than George W. Bush, is the U.S. Congress and we all need to be sure they ALL know this. Harry Reid has stated he does not work for Obama, so perhaps he holds more allegiance to the Nevada prostitutes, and the gambling houses but as far as I am concerned Obama has been elected and we better all hope he succeeds. Most of my family, and most of my business friends are staunch Republicans but they have all told me they are pulling hard for him to be successful. “It’s the economy stupid” and unless someone has a better plan----let him or her step forward. I know there are a lot of people on OEN that fully believe “its all over” and they may be right, but I’ll do everything I can to “save my ass”. Do we not need to use the influence we have here to send a message to Congress that we will take nothing less than full cooperation from Congress in this critical time? I recently signed a form with regards to Gaza that someone linked on this site, so I know there are 100’s of you that not only know how to do this, but also are much better than myself.
