Frank Rich | Oh What a Malleable War
http://www.truthout.org/docs_2006/021807E.shtml
Frank Rich writes: "Maybe the Bush White House can't conduct a war, but no one has ever impugned its ability to lie about its conduct of a war. Now even that well-earned reputation for flawless fictionalizing is coming undone. Watching the administration try to get its story straight about Iran's role in Iraq last week was like watching third graders try to sidestep blame for misbehaving while the substitute teacher was on a bathroom break. The team that once sold the country smoking guns in the shape of mushroom clouds has completely lost its mojo. Surely these guys can do better than this."

Soldiers Face Neglect, Frustration at Army's Top Medical Facility
http://www.truthout.org/docs_2006/021807C.shtml
Behind the door of Army Specialist Jeremy Duncan's room, part of the wall is torn and hangs in the air, weighted down with black mold. When the wounded combat engineer stands in his shower and looks up, he can see the bathtub on the floor above through a rotted hole. Signs of neglect are everywhere: mouse droppings, belly-up cockroaches, stained carpets, cheap mattresses. This is the world of Building 18 in the Walter Reed Medical Center, home to hundreds of maimed soldiers recuperating from injuries suffered in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

FOCUS | Again, GOP Thwarts Senate Debate on War
http://www.truthout.org/docs_2006/021807Z.shtml
Senate Republicans for a second time blocked a symbolic attempt by Democrats to reject President Bush's troop increase yesterday, but GOP defections were higher than before, suggesting Republican cracks as the Iraq war dominates Congress's agenda.

Weapons charges against Iran are almost certainly fabricated
By Dennis Rahkonen | Online Journal Contributing Writer
Considering the utter fraudulence of these emphatic assertions upon which the bogus case for going to war with Iraq was predicated, why should we now believe George Bush
when he says -- as he did at his most recent press conference -- that
"we know" the Iranian government is providing sophisticated weapons for the nefarious purpose of killing US troops in Iraq? http://snipurl.com/1amwc

Serious questions about Bush-Gates Iran mortar allegation
By Larry Chin | Online Journal Associate Editor
In the wake of purported "strong evidence" that mortars used to attack US soldiers in Iraq were manufactured by Iran, disturbing new questions are being raised about the veracity of the claims made by Defense Secretary Robert Gates and President George W. Bush.

Information warfare, psyops and the power of myth
By Mike Whitney | Online Journal Contributing Writer
The bombing of the Golden Dome Mosque in Samarra is the cornerstone of Bush's psychological operations (psyops) in Iraq. That's why it is critical to have an independent investigation and discover who is really responsible. http://snipurl.com/1amwk

Israeli politics of 'archeology' in Jerusalem
By Nicola Nasser | Online Journal Contributing Writer
The Israeli arrogance of being the regional military super power, unequivocally backed by the U.S. world super power, is dictating a kind of politics that deals trivially with the national and religious grievances of Israel's geopolitical neighbors, whom the Jewish state is supposedly aspiring to live with in peace and as a regional integral part, while at the same time she is pursuing policies that antagonize those same neighbors to preclude altogether whatever potential is left for peace. http://snipurl.com/1amwr

Palestinians united but still rejected
By Linda S. Heard | Online Journal Contributing Writer
As far as the Israelis are concerned, the Palestinians can't win. Short of rolling over and agreeing to be trampled upon for all time a Palestinian government has little hope of being accorded respect and treated as a worthy partner for peace. http://snipurl.com/1amwv

If you missed reading Prof. Frances A. Boyle's very credible Interview/report in Diane's News Clips Sunday, I've included a few excerpts below you won't want to miss:
http://talknationradio.com/?p=67
Francis A. Boyle Interview - Impeach George W. Bush and Dick Cheney to Stop the Guns of August, an attack on Iran
here are a few excerpts:
"It was the Chicago Straussian cabal of pro-Israeli Neo-cons who set up a separate
"intelligence" unit within the Pentagon that was responsible for manufacturing many of the bald-faced lies, deceptions, half-truths, and outright propaganda that the Bush Jr. administration then disseminated to the lap-dog U.S. news media in order to generate public support for a war of aggression against Iraq for the benefit of Israel and in order to steal Iraq's oil. Francis A. Boyle
Professor Francis A. Boyle: Well you have to understand the Neo-conservative mentality. I went to the University of Chicago with these people, (Paul) Wolfowitz > http://snipurl.com/1alj0, and all the rest of them, and I went through the same program, the Department of Political Science run by the Neocon founder Leo Strauss. > http://snipurl.com/1alj1, His mentor in Germany before he came to the United States was Karl Schmidt who went on to become the most notorious Nazi law professor of that benighted era who tried to justify in legal terms every hideous atrocity the Nazis inflicted on anyone.
.......................snip.......................
So these are the people we are dealing with. They are extremely dangerous, very bright, cunning and ruthless, and they are really out to dominate and control the two thirds of the world's hydrocarbon resources in Eurasia. > http://snipurl.com/1alj3 An objective that Zbigniew Brzezinski identified a while ago in his book, The Grand Chess Board. > http://snipurl.com/1alj4
......................snip.......................
So we simply cannot underestimate at all what these people are up to. For example, the Deputy National Security Advisor, Elliott Abrams > http://snipurl.com/1alj7 he was a classmate of mine at Harvard Law School; he's one of these people. Abrams was responsible for personally murdering 35,000 people down in Nicaragua. He was in charge of the Contra war.
......................snip.......................
So this guy Abrams > http://www.thenation.com/doc/20010702/corn has already killed 35,000 in Nicaragua > http://snipurl.com/1alj8, and he should be in jail rather than Deputy National Security Advisor. He is running Bush's entire policy toward the Middle East. He is also a fanatical Zionist affiliated with the Likud Party in Israel, as is true for many but not all of these Neo-conservatives. So this is an extremely dangerous situation. These Neocons want to take on Iran as a favor to Israel. They believe that what is good for Israel is good for the United States. Iran intelligence claims: Deja vu all over again?
News, AFP | Sunday, February 18th, 2007 By JIM MANNION
Unfounded intelligence claims that paved the way for war in Iraq blew back like a ghost last week to haunt US charges that Iran is arming Iraqi extremists.
.......................snip.......................
"Putting Iran in the spotlight in Iraq is a part of a policy of escalating pressure on Tehran, as well as also potentially preparing the American population for more drastic action against Iran by trying to single out Iran as the problem in Iraq, whether or not that's actually true," he said.
John Pike, director of GlobalSecurity.Org, said the briefing aroused controversy because "it really looks like Mr. Bush is getting ready to bomb Iran."..snip http://snipurl.com/1amv5

A husband and wife came for counseling after 40 years of marriage. When asked what the problem was, the wife went into a passionate, painful tirade listing every problem they had ever had in the 40 years they had been married. She went on and on and on: neglect, lack of intimacy, emptiness, loneliness, feeling unloved and un-lovable, an entire laundry list of unmet needs she had endured over the course of their marriage. Finally, after allowing this to go on for a sufficient length of time, the therapist got up, walked around the desk and, after asking the wife to stand, embraced and kissed her passionately. The woman shut up and quietly sat down as though in a daze. The therapist turned to the husband and said, "This is what your wife needs at least three times a week. Can you do this?" The husband
thought for a moment and replied,.. "Well, I can drop her off here on Mondays and Wednesdays, but on Fridays, I fish." &: o
