Oped is slow to load on my computer, compared to websites like Huffington Post, of which my computer-literate wife, has come to some hypothetical leaps of luminary possibility. The advertisements on Oped are animated, which means they take longer to load, compared to the stationary advertisements on Huffington Post. HP loads fast: boom-boom-ka-choom; Oped like molasses.
Animated advertisements move, which not only takes longer to load, but makes them harder to read.
Readers want to quickly scan a page, advertisements included. Movement may get attention, but it is distracting.
So, maybe the reason Oped is slow, is because of all the moving ads. Maybe they all need to be print, like HP.
If I am right, I will take credit. If wrong, well, it was her idea.
