"DAD"
It doesn't take much to be a "Father"
But a heart of love to be a "DAD"
A father may turn and walk away
But a "DAD'S" with you through the good and bad
He was there when you started talking
Heard the very first words you said
He held your hand when you started walking
Picked you up when you bumped your head
It was "daddy" who took you fishing
Shared the thrill of that first fish
"Daddy" took you to church on Sundays
He tucked you in with a goodnight kiss
He was there through your little league baseball
And so glad that you were his "son'
His heart was filled with pride and joy
Whether you struck out or hit a home run
Gathered in a crowd of people
He loved to see you having fun
And if somebody asked, "Hey, who's that kid?"
He proudly said "That is my son"
Well now you're out on your own
Just trying to make your way
But you'll never forget that special man
Who made you what you are today
