An urgent plea from my temporarily banned OEN friend asking us to write the International Red Cross urging them to bring criminal charges against George W. Bush and Company for war crimes and breaking all international laws outlawing torture.

::::::::

An open letter to the International Red Cross.
I just sent this email to the International Red Cross.

I ask those who still read my stuff to also send a letter of this type to them as well. Since it is clear that none of our political leaders have any courage, it's time to get the world involved, now!

Please. The madness has to stop! This isn't about Republican or Democrat. This is about right and wrong! This isn't about politics. This is about crime and punishment. Let the International Red Cross know how you feel.

BEGIN EMAIL...

An open letter to the International Red Cross

Ladies and gentlemen of the International Red Cross,

My name is Robert W. Raitz II. I live in Dallas, Texas. I write under the pen name of Pappy McFae. However, considering the gravity and the import I feel towards the following issue, I feel that I must not obscure who I am, or hide behind an alias, at least for this writing.

I heard on MSNBC that your organization has concluded that the practice of torture was being sanctioned and carried out by the United States Federal Government, especially President George Bush, Vice President Dick Cheney, Secretary of state, Condoleeza Rice, etc., at the miltary detention facility at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. You concluded that at least three "detainees" had been water-boarded; a form of torture that has existed since the Inquisition. A form of torture once condemned by this country when saner minds prevailed.

Further, on this matter, it was said that your organization was looking into the possibility of pressing charges of war crimes against the above mentioned individuals, and others who were conspirators in the run up to, and the execution of the war in Iraq.

On that point, as a frustrated citizen of the United States of America, I ask; no, I BEG that your organization stop considering pressing charges, and start pressing them.

It is clear that there exists no portion of our government: state, federal, or local; judicial or legislative willing to rein in the madness that is the Bush administration, and their war of choice and convenience. Therefore, it is left to a higher authority to do something, anything to stop the war, and the torture now sanctioned in its name.

I do not ask this for political reasons. This national embarrassment transcends politics.

I ask this for purely moral reasons. I abhor torture of any kind, by anyone, for any reason whatsoever. I am ashamed to no end that the country I once loved has become tainted by insane, sadistic, megalomaniacs, and their heinous war crimes, including torture.

What makes this worse is I feel utterly disgusted that no one in congress, or in an American court is willing to call a criminal a criminal!

George W. Bush is a war criminal. Dick Cheney is a war criminal. Condoleeza Rice is a war criminal. All those who, in any way, had anything to do with the run up to the war, or any of the scandals associated with it are also war criminals. They must be held to account for their actions.

Either the rule of law means something, or it does not. Since it is frightfully clear that no one on my home soil has the courage of conviction required to use the rule of law to stop clearly criminal actions, it is left to the world outside our borders to step in.

While it is personally embarrassing for me as an American to have to write such a letter, I feel I have absolutely no other option left to me. No one here hears me.

Can you? Will you?

Please, ladies and gentlemen of this great organization, return the rule of law to the United States of America. You are the last hope for those who feel as I do, yet lack the courage of conviction, or the capacity to intelligently and earnestly make this request. I speak for many who have no voice.

I thank you for taking the time to at least read this email. Please know that this comes from my heart. Please know that I can no longer bear the shame of having my good name tainted by the crimson stain of torture, and other war crimes. Please know that you are the last hope to stop this insanity now!

I thank you for your time and consideration.

Yours truly,

Robert W. Raitz II
