The Rabbinical court in Jerusalem performs the same functions as Spanish Inquisition.

::::::::

Hear, hear! To all the Jews at sea and all the Jews of call, to all the Jews in  Galacha, to all the Non-Jews, whatever. The Rabbinical Court and Rabbinical Council in Jerusalem are in charge off  the final definition on who is a Jew and who is not. They can  permit or not to get married in Israel. They have  investigators(!) who  demand the proof from the individual about his/her blood ancestry, demand papers, question witnesses and even interrogate ( polite, no torture in all fairness). This  institution EXACTLY follows  in its functions   some of the functions of the infamous Santa Hermandada, the Spanish Inquisition which also was in charge of such investigations to issue a certificate to the individual that he/she  not only was a real good Catholic but did not have any  unfortunate non- Catholic ancestry.

Let people know that Inquistion is  alive and well,  only it has a Jewish accent now.

P.S. I hope no one will accuse me here of fingering out the Jews. On the contrary, I am a Jew myself and  the existence of such institution just proves to me  what I always  knew: we, the Jews are exactly the same as everyone else.
