A motorist stopped by the Police, I watched in horror while they dragged him from the car and executed him. Walking along a high street, I saw two men emerge from a store with assault rifles. While I dived to the sidewalk, my fellow pedestrians traded shots with the terrorists until they were dead. My cousin took her three-year-old son for his birthday party at a local mall. On their way home, a man boarded the bus, shot the mother and killed her boy.
The citizens in my town walk with death.
When I was down and out, I took my little dog with me while I searched the dumpsters for food. He was my excuse that I was looking to feed him. Often, perfect strangers would give him their sandwiches to eat. Sometimes, the passer-by would hand me a note the equivalent of $10 or $20. A victim of a mugging, I was legally blind for four years. As I stupidly insisted on walking, I fell a lot. Invariably, young people would rush to my side to assist me.
