In neurological terms, that means that they have less and lessfunctioning emotionally connecting neurons, and as it happens, fewer
mentally internal connecting neurons. These people cannot connect
emotionally with others, the live in their own space and not the "field"
that is the space we share, and they are unable to connect emotional
and analytic thought. What is missing is the pair of empathic neurons:
mirror and spindle.
To us, this seems obvious from the outside,
but to those high up on the pyramid, there is complete disbelief. Even
the funded neurological scientists have the hardest time grasping these
ideas, and have to resort to the scientific model to prove what they
cannot conceive, what we all actually take for granted.
These
people, or higher organisms, find it easy to hurt other higher organisms
as part of business or possibly neurological research. They are no so
much cruel, as unable to feel or conceptualize the effects that their
actions, or even thoughts, may have on others; they certainly cannot
feel the pain the cause others. Inhumanity is not deliberate cruelty as
sadism is not a defective joy; these conditions are simply caused by an
absence of life's facilities that have evolved to bring us where we
are.
Our empathy is very intellectual; we attempt to rationalize
obviously one-sided relationships with people who cannot possibly
connect in the way normal people, such those higher in our pyramids, our
bosses for instance.
Because we always attempt to make a better
situation, we attempt to bring out in these isolated humans what we
expect to find in them in terms of life's facilities; they just are not
there, and we always fail, but because we have faith we keep trying.
This is the human flaw; no other higher organism does this. In natural
communities, such as monkeys, apes, and even wolves, the animals that
cannot connect tend to do bad things as they cannot participate in the
development of resources, such as obtaining food, which is
collaboration. Likewise they cannot participate in raising the young,
which is what Darwin called natural affection. As a result they tend to
do selfish things to obtain resources, which in turn results in their
marginalization from the group; they then find it very difficult to
reproduce. In nature, emphatically defective organisms are rare. But
in humanity, our tendency to intellectualize our empathy causes us to
tend to anthropomorphism: we give human characteristics to humans who
lack the basic definitions of higher organisms, not to mention the moral
basics of societal humans.
When I was in Missouri, a girl said
to me: God separates the rednecks from the hillbillies. I had trouble
understanding this, but I have since figure it out. Rednecks are
sadistic, and hillbillies are natural, tribal, and hence native
Americans. Hillbillies are connected to God as they connect with each
other, but rednecks tend to NASCAR, hunting, and, when they can, global
genocide.
At the end of the day, nearly every one of the
Scots-Irish from the Appalachians claims Native ancestry. This, of
course, is impossible; they exterminated those Natives they could not
drive away! But it shows the natural tendency of humans to connect with
their environments. The system does work! The natural system that we
live in will bring us back from the brink, but we have to figure out how
to allow it to do its work.
