The solution to solving the Iraq occupation quagmire and for responding to Neocon talking points.

::::::::

Note: I threw this together in 10 minutes and posted it as a comment in a thread on shoutwire.com - so I acknowledge that it is probably full of errors. Anyhoo, I am posting it here, below as a "work in progress". While not perfect, I think it could stimulate some brainstorming and better responses to the Neocon talking points: here ya go...

Time has proven that "stay the course" is foolish. However, the U.S. (my country) destroyed and "broke" Iraq (unfortunately, unnecessarily and based on lies - something which time has also proven) so we are responsible. That is why we should offer to pay all the costs of sending in a U.N multi-national force - the size of which was successful during the first unnecessary attack (based on lies and a set-up as well) on Iraq. If we do that then the other countries will be more willing to send in the significant amount of troops that will be needed. *Yes, Republicans I know the incredible and skyrocketing cost will bankrupt us, but that's what's happening now anyway. And yes, I know non-republicans, it's not fair that you should have to pay for the devilish Republicans' foolishness - so I propose that we set up shoe stands on every corner and make all those who voted bush in 200 and 2004 to shine our shoes to pay more of their fair share and to learn some desperately needed humility as well. Heck, the foolish ones that call themselves "True Christians" should have to wash our feet.

So there it is. Those of you say it cannot work - I say - your way is already PROVEN not to work. Your way has no end in sight, the loss of life is unreal and unaceptable - with a civil war to boot - so how about trying another way? And I don't ask for much time. If this way doesn't show REAL signs of Progress within 6-months - you can go back to your preferred way (we probabaly coundnt't stop you anyway) of ripping people out of their homes at night (in front of their families), your way of throwing them in prisons and uh, alternatively, uh, interrogating them - and your way of blowing entire cities off the map.

So whaddya say? My way may not work, but since your way is a clusterfuck quagmire - whadaaa say we let some other military leadership in there to give it a go? And without bush there to fire or to force out their best military leaders for speaking truthfully about what needs to be done - their efforts will be more competent and realistic as well.

*Actually, this will save us hundreds of billions of dollars because it will have an "end in sight" - hundreds of billions of dollars that could be better spent on our own country and it's people. heck we could use it for health care - free college for all - and new public schools for all - wouldn't that be nice? And if you support America, you must admit that this would be much better for us.

P.S. The Iraqis don't want us there so how about we give them the Freedom to make the decision regarding THEIR country? Hmmm?

About me: *I am a Christian. One who believes in the lord, but also respects science (and other peoples beliefs and non-beliefs too). ...and I have no need to add the prefix "True" before the word "Christian", because either you are telling the (more...)
