So, right now it is not in the interests of the Current Governance of the U.S. as the Assemblage of (people) 'Congress' as there is good probability that The Executive Branch can be "de-limbed" but only on the first two levels (Presidential and Vice) as the 'third person' (in Line) is NOT in charge/Control and therefore perhaps not obtainable.As the "Secretary of State" they are third in Line to 'Being in charge' (Becoming President) Hence Most likely the Outcome of A Pursuit of the First two, BUT ...the Better choice to follow as they have the Requisite KNOWLEDGE as they have Been Kept in the KNOW since the beginning, and as it been heard by me, they have some Skills at the, Now, very Much Needed In Iraq (et al) 'Diplomacy' As that will Help the Cause there Greatly if Agreement can then be found to End the Hostilities, Might come a whole lot easier too.
Problem is that Ensconcing Ms. Condoleezza Rice as President is NOT favourable to 'hopefuls' in the 'Upcoming' election that has already started, as it allows her a chance to Do it differently from what the Two above her have 'dictated' to her to do.
That there are them amongst you who would condemn her along with the other two, her complicity is a bit more like the front line receiver of the Command structure, hence Choosing otherwise isn't as much of an option for her as you would think...sorta like 'do it or go away' sooo most of you "do your jobs" for your bosses' too.
But for actually effecting Real Change at the Juncture in History, She would probably be the Best Option as She would only have two years anyways, and some rather interesting Problems to solve in that time.
Otherwise George stays in Till January 09...Right?
It isn't that the Democratic party lacks anything other then the sense that Tells all of the rest of Us that, George is more Dangerous then they can really handle...Control....It is also because they Don't want to put the 'Secretary of State' into the Presidency.
After all, she is there to do what her boss(es) tell (Follows orders) her to do, How truly what? Dirty? Guilty? do you think she is? if she was Parachuted into the 'Presidency' she has better inside/current (and past) 'knowledge/intel(?)' then anyone else, she could make quite good use of it in Settling (an 'Honourable Withdrawal' for/by Both {all} parties) this Iraq War event...maybe even the "War On being Terrified" will become what it has Always been a Police/Peaceofficer action/activity such that societies as a whole/LARGE are not attacked by Small/wee groups of Ill/Murderous meaning 'Persons'.
What if they cannot make a case against her? have you thought of that? they have.....

Go to there 'offices' (in Person) and (be) peacful-ly tell them that that is what you want, the two Upper 'Members' of the Executive Branch to either Resign or be Impeached.
The current "Secretary of State" probably has a Better opportunity/chance to end Iraq ..Quicker!.. then anyone else.
