The extremely difficult thing to do under America's wretched circumstances today is to muster the integrity to accept the truth, and then if we're really good, intelligent and courageous people to deal with it beyond errant popular sentiment and sloganeering.
It was no noble cause but our government who across the past six years promoted the vicious propaganda that good Americans are expected to Support Our troops, much as did the "good Germans" that in 1942 supported the troops who ravaged Europe and stoked the furnaces of Dachau.
This propaganda has been cynically employed to gain political support and funding for a treacherous government's unconscionable slaughter and disgrace to our history. Those of us who have however innocently parroted this propaganda have been the unwitting messengers of the treachery, and the troops have been its victims.
The better way is to Support Peace, actively, with determination and in common cause, and to deliver our troops from the clutches of treacherous masters, spare them exposure to the perils of fraudulent missions, preserve them for legitimate defense of the republic should the need arise, and allow them to live unwounded and sane in the embrace of their families.
