This is a reality check: There is a relationship between all the broken bits of the system, and the broken bits of the system operators, such as our recent presidents. In fact we live in a "whole system" and attempting to conceive of problems as individual "quirks" in an otherwise beneficial environment is naive and dangerous. But it how people are taught to think.

::::::::

It was the housing industry that put is in the hole created the recent crisis, according to the mass of information available to us. As I remember it, the banking industry lenders ushered in the 21st Century with an announcement that pesky manufacturing and especially pesky technology would be shipped afar and we would live well by a house-building and mortgage industry economy.

In a sense, the homeowner, despite being a victim, helped dig the economic hole we are trying to climb out of right now. Despite a housing glut caused by over-building, there is still massive homelessness--there is endemic immorality built into this system, of which the homeowner is a key component.

The obvious problem with this was apparent immediately: how this pure stupidity would be funded was deliberately ignored. It was funded by raping the savings accounts of US families (in the first half of the first decade of the 21st Century) and then with massive credit scams (in the second half of the first decade) that culminated in the "credit default swap" crash of 2008.

It was not actually stupidity, but a crisis initiated by highly intelligent people where were allowed to act with concern for fundamental issues. The condition that allowed them to function this way was in their brains: a mental dysfunction. The mental dysfunction being immorality which is a dysfunction of the mirror and/or spindle neurons allowing the immoral behaviors that allowed the economic rapists to do their damage. The dysfunction also causes an inability to conceive of the long-term results of immoral actions, and allows only the short-term appreciation of the instant gratification of massive cash payoffs.

Obama failed as a "behaviorist" when he "rewarded" these economic rapists with the next big chunk of American money, to be collected in the form of future taxes. It is sad to think that Obama, after creating so much hope, is simply an extension of all the problems we have ever had.)

Unfortunately behaviorism is the only way we have to deal with people who have moral dysfunctions caused by broken or missing neural constructs, but throughout history more stringent measures have been taken to control these types of moral disorders when they get out of hand. The guillotine was invented as just such a behaviorist tool--I would call it crude disease control.

Suggesting improvements to a system run by people so immoral as to be political sociopaths (the Bushes can't be the only monsters) is simply extending the problem. . As Einstein said "you cannot solve a problem with the means by which it was created."

We, as Americans, need to live in well-built apartments that allow us the benefits of the "village," and allow us to share resources, expenses, and social responsibilities.

We need to convert to public transportation for the same reasons, and we need to start this process now so as to make an example for the world while we are still the supreme economic power.

The endless ugly houses that dot the landscape, destroying local environments, are very likely containers for the dysfunctions that are causing perennial cyclic collapse. Groups of these houses are called "bedroom communities" though they do not fit the definition of a community for any social scientist.

They are barely houses at all, lacking even the most fundamental aesthetics, and the people living in them do not communicate between themselves, but act as predators waiting for opportunities to "sick the cops" on any victim they can find, usually some one walking down the road. I experienced the "bedroom community" as census work: nearly purely sick people. I believe that these houses within these "sub divisions" are, psychologically speaking, containers for sociopathic disorders, and they have to be stopped by any means possible.

The initial problem is the structure of economics, and the "handbook" for this structure is written in business and economic schools. If the disease starts in the educational system, then the educational system must be diseased. Defining the disease is simple, but being a disorder that causes sequential behaviors, using "search-able" labels usually results in the attacks by these diseased, so I will leave you with its description rather that its label.

But let is understand that the initial problem is with education, and that medicine is closely related to education, and medicine is presently 1/2 of our economic crisis (cause 1/2 of credit defaults), despite the perennial financial scandals.

Perhaps because we have focused for on greed for so long (certainly since the time of Christ), the real guilt has been allowed to escape to create new problems, because of this sequential illness: Education.

Lies of the Times: Obama needs to fufill his promise
Obama promised to end the "trickle down theory" and transform America. But instead he bailed out the very criminals that caused the recent crash, preventing any possibility of real change. Beginning the American Break-Up: Ending the CIA
There would so many benefits to breaking up America, as the American government is far to large, by definition, to have any empathy. Without natural emotional communication, there is no collaboration, and hence the CIA has no choice but the resemble a "thinking disorder." They have tried to destroy us so many times it is hard to keep count, yet Congress keeps funding them: widespread mental illness in government?

Inflation Key to the Recession Cycle
Capital is effectively the same as capitical construction. With construction, there needs to be growth to pay for the construction costs, and the siphoning by the land lords. If humanity starts reducing its size, creating more resources for each individual and family, capital will tumble because it needs growth to sustain its inherent inefficiency caused by greed. But don't think communism is a solution. Communism, as an economic system of the state, is simply refined capitalism: the take-over of bureaucracy.
