Lately, the actions taken by the Obama Administration sound similar of to the Secrecy of the Bush Administration. The opinion of not prosecuting people who allowed their reaching opinions of possible uses of enhanced interrogation methods to be implemented without proper oversight should be investigated. How these opinions morphed into actions taken by this nation that clearly exceed the international lines of torture should be investigated.
We included these actions against members of a government that were qualified as POW's therefore we did not adhere to the Geneva Convention. According to the opinions this was not supposed to happen and the political reason for the 80 plus episodes of water boarding was also not considered legal under those opinions.
We have a need to police the actions taken by our Government. We participated in killing Japanese during WWII for these same crimes. History shows that they did have an immediate threat to the people of their nation. We did drop 2 Atomic weapons on their cities. It is hypocrisy to think that Iraq posed a more immediate threat to us. We have clear evidence that we were lied to as a nation concerning the evidence that presumed that they were a threat at all.
We need a SPECIAL PROCECUTOR to view all photos and all evidence, clearly mark a timeline of intelligence good and bad with the actions taken on that intelligence. He must be able to subpoena anyone.
Torturers must be accountable for following unlawful orders
