Hillary Clinton has finally declared her intent to seek the the Democratic Party nomination for president and stated that she wants to have a "conversation ... with America," via her website -- and that guarantees a tightly controlled conversation with "we the people."In a video chat filmed for her on-line announcement, Mrs. Clinton said, "Let's talk about how to bring the right end to the war in Iraq..
I would like to hear Hillary talk about her definition of "the right end" to the war in Iraq and how many more U.S. troops she is willing to sacrifice to bring about that end?
I would also like to know if elected president, would she take immediate action to revoke the Military Commissions Act of 2006, which facilitates the suspension of the writ of habeas corpus, for all Americans?
And would she take action to repeal the "John Warner Defense Authorization Act of 2007, which allows the president to declare "Martial Law" and facilitates militarized police round-ups and detention of protesters in concentration camps already contracted for and under construction by Halliburton?
Mrs. Clinton supported George Bush's invasion of Iraq. She declined to actively oppose the Military Commissions Act and she voted in favor of the John Warner Defense Authorization Act, so it's unlikely that Hillary Dearest's "conversation with America" will address these questions.
