Healthcare reform? What is being reformed in this give-away? Is it the fact that the bill orders the insurance industry to accept everyone regardless of pre-existing conditions? Is it making it unlawful to not have health insurance?

This fiasco has been wrongly named in the first place. As Keith Olbermann pointed out this is neither health, care, nor reform. The insurance industry does not, and has never, provided health services. It has never given care to people, sick or not. It has only been a middleman, taking money from citizens, telling doctors what they can or can't do in order to get paid by them, and taking what is left over to the bank.

This bill does nothing to change that scenario, therefore how can it be called reform, unless you consider it is handing more than 30,000,000 additional customers over to the insurance industry. It puts absolutely no restrictions on what they can charge. It puts no restrictions on what they must pay doctors or for what services performed by them (recall the bill says the insurance companies cannot reject based on re-existing conditions, but it does not state they have to pay for these conditions).

This fiasco does nothing to improve our standing in healthcare worldwide, as stated by the World Health Organization, which ranks the United States 37th in the world, behind all other industrialized nations, plus some third world countries such as Costa Rica.
