Reaction to Joe Lieberman's statement today that the United States should attack Iran.

::::::::

Joementum does it again.

During his recent trip to Iraq, soldiers serving there crowded around, asking him:

"When are we going to get out of here?"

If Joe had his way, the answer is NEVER. The U.S. would never leave the Middle East.

I'm speechless but others are not.

Here are some bloggers calling it like it is:

Joe Lieberman, “centrist” and crazed

"The very idea of starting a new war with Iran is so obscenely irrational — to say nothing of its morality — that it is difficult to put into words. A vast consensus of military experts across the ideological spectrum have all been warning for several years that no viable option exists for the military glory which the great and serious Churchillian warrior, Joe Lieberman, seeks. Just fathom how quickly and how completely whatever lingering shreds of moral credibility America has left would disappear if we commenced a military attack on that country."

Can't Get Enough War

"That would be Joe Lieberman, of course.
What timing. Just as the more moderate elements (if you can define them that way) of the Bush administration have begun to move towards diplomacy regarding Iran, Lieberman serves up this gem, which has the fingerprints of Cheney all over it. Which tells you just how independent Joe Lieberman really isn't."

"Can we drop Joe Lieberman on Iran?

I don’t mean metaphorically. I mean put him in the cargo hold or bomb bay of some muscular, codpiece swelling iron bird, and then release him over the city of Tehran. Of course, we would give him a parachute—we’re not brutes, for goodness sake. He would be our gift to the Iranian poeple. They could use him as a door stop or make a kite out of him."
