Hillary and Bill Clinton continue their campaign of scorched earth, win at any cost politics.

::::::::

America is reminded of the shameful past of racism with the anniversary of the murder of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. last week. As we traverse the rocky road of redemption there are moments of truth within the current body politic to set us free.

Forty years ago there were many who symbolized the face of hate and intolerance. Bravely and in greater and prevailing numbers were those who fought, marched and died for freedom's cause. Forty years later there still remains the undercurrent of race baiting and hate mongering, although the most recent crop of miscreants are not wielding water hoses or attack dogs.

The usual suspects are easy to discover. Coulter, Cunningham, Hannity, O'Reilly, and Savage to name a few. This is to be expected from them. The most insidious attacks however, are coming from within the Democratic party itself, courtesy of Hillary and Bill Clinton. Truthfully they aren't really Democrats, they never have been. Hillary and Bill should more appropriately be running under the banner of the Democratic Leadership Council (DLC). Republicrats is more like it.

James Carville was so quick to point out that Bill Richardson was a modern day Judas, a betrayer of biblical proportions. Even a dime store psychologist can tell that a common way to deflect critical judgment is to accuse others of your own liabilities, the pot calling the kettle black so to speak. Of course Carville is a good watch dog, faithfully protecting his masters until the last dog is dead.

Alas, the real betrayers are the Clintons and their handful of sycophantic surrogates willing to spin the web of coded sound bites of division, fear and hate. Billy Shaheen and Mark Penn were there to ghettoize Obama as a drug dealer and Bob Johnson "didn't" want to talk about what Barack was doing in the neighborhood. Ed Rendell schooled us on how white people would have a hard time voting for an African American. In 1988 Geraldine Ferraro said Jesse Jackson's accomplishments were commensurate with the color of his skin. Twenty years later she bellows the same rancorous bile about Obama.

The most malignant of the verbal assaults however, have been unloosed directly by the Captain and his Commander. Bill Clinton comparing Obama's South Carolina victory to Jesse Jackson. Hillary on 60 Minutes with the now infamous refrain, "As far as I know he's not a Muslim". And then Bill telling us that McCain and Hillary are the ones who love their country, by nominating her we don't have to worry about that "other stuff" that invades our politics. And most recently, Hillary, whining like a broken bagpipe to Superdelegates that Obama cannot win.

When we watch and listen closely along the way we are witness to Hillary and Company finding her voice. The voice of desperation and hate. The purveyors of racism from forty years ago are still with us, relentlessly trying to co-opt their nightmare upon us. Fortunately for us, the next 3 AM phone call Hillary will get, will be from Mephistopheles....telling her to come home.

Yet another free thinking citizen drawing a line in the sand against the neocons and the fascist takeover of America.
