He seemed like a very nice man, but I didn’t like his condoning the Iraq War, and I’d have to say he didn’t understand his own religion too well, if his interview with Time Magazine was any indication (he was asked a pivotal question about the LDS faith, and he didn’t know the answer).Gordon’s support of the Iraq War was immoral and anti-Christian, and unfortunately, the most important position I know of that he took politically.
Gordon’s demise made me think of Harry Reid, who is also Mormon. Many people wonder what Harry’s missing testicle problem is all about. Connect the dots here, and I think you can fill in the answer.
And that’s my problem with Mitt Romney too.Mormons are for the most part genuinely nice and sincere people (ok, I realize I’m generalizing and that such is generally foolish when it comes to any group of humans, but on these points, I think even most Mormons would agree); however, they do go along to get along, and they are neutered from thinking on their own at an early age—much like any other religion.
This saddens me greatly, particularly as an educator, but it is also something to bear in mind when contemplating a bona fide political leader.
