There was a Gaza peace rally in New York City, on January 3rd, 2009. It was really peaceful, which is not what I expected when I went. The crowd was said to be about 10,000 - 20,000.

This rally marched from Times Square to the Israeli embassy.  I went there with my portrait lens, and expected a riot.  Bu it was optimistic and upbeat, and any aggression or bias was condemned by the rally's speakers.  The kids I photographed all less then ten years old on September 11, 2001, so they probably have a completely different perspective than the older protesters.

There was also an Orthodox Jewish pro-Palestinian group there, that condemns the Israeli state, and supports the old model of all peoples living together in cities in different quarters.
