It's unfortunate that top military and government leaders in the United States remain ignorant about matters that should not be confusing.

::::::::

In this day and age of "advanced" knowledge, when human science has mapped out the entirety of the human body's genetic makeup, it is disheartening to hear important people spout nonsense and then claim it is only their personal views and moral code talking.

That is precisely what happened recently when chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Marine Gen. Peter Pace opined in an interview with the Chicago Tribune: "I believe that homosexual acts between individuals are immoral and that we should not condone immoral acts. I do not believe the United States is well-served by a policy that says it is OK to be immoral in any way."

Republican presidential candidate Sam Brownback, R-Kan., then jumped into the controversy by supporting Pace's remarks in a letter he wrote to President George W. Bush. "We should not expect someone as qualified, accomplished and articulate as General Pace to lack personal views on important moral issues," Brownback wrote. "In fact, we should expect that anyone entrusted with such great responsibility will have strong moral views."

The incidents arose over the question whether the US military should ignore homosexuality by allowing gay personnel to serve openly in the military, as many foreign nations do.

Pace and Brownback are fools.

We should expect "anyone entrusted with such great responsibility" to have some contact with modern knowledge. With science telling us more and more about ourselves daily, there is no way they should be so ignorant on this matter.

Homosexuality has nothing to do with morality, with choice, with conversion or with anything to do with decision making. Homosexuality is determined by natural forces and no one is purposely responsible for its occurrence. It is a happenstance of nature, or by random chance using the method of sexual determination designed by God, for religious folks. No one is recruited into the life; it cannot be learned nor can it be taught.

The positions Pace and Brownback have stated may be personal views, but they are certainly not "moral views" and don't address "moral issues." Their statements are the opposite, they are immoral bigotry, and to claim them as moral views is insulting to anyone who has true moral values. Pace's statement that, "I do not believe the United States is well-served by a policy that says it is OK to be immoral in any way" is problematic because the nation is being served by both these men who are being immoral in their bigotry. Homosexuality is not a choice, but bigotry is. Stupidity is not a choice, but ignorance is. Neither Pace nor Brownback is stupid.

We understand what causes homosexuality, we just don't have irrefutable scientific proof, which could come at any time.

We all start life from a microscopic egg produced by the female of the species. That egg contains two chromosomes, both designated by an X, which designates female. That means we all start life as females, and men have nipples as proof of what we were in the beginning. That is also present in the animal world; just rub the underside of a tomcat or a he-mutt and the same presence of nipples is evident. Their method of sexual determination is exactly the same as in humans, and homosexuality occurs in the animal kingdom as it does in humans and for the same reasons.

The male provides both X and Y chromosomes which fertilize the double-X egg. When conception occurs, either the X or the Y chromosome from the male will attach itself to one of the two X chromosomes of the egg. If the male's X chromosome attaches itself, the egg remains female as it develops into an embryo. If the Y chromosome attaches itself, the egg is transformed into a male in its embryonic stage. It takes six to seven weeks to determine which sex has emerged.

If the Y chromosome fails to do its duty and doesn't displace the entire female X chromosome, some mixing of the body's chemicals will occur and males can be born with some feminine characteristics and females can be born with some masculine characteristics. It is what it is, and any person who evicts a homosexual child from home or punishes a gay child in any way for being gay is a fool because chromosomes of the parents cause the homosexuality, the child did not choose to be so.

There is no "cure" for homosexuality, as the minions of the religious right try to claim. And God doesn't "hate fags," as a bigoted Kansas "minister" claims while he makes a fool of himself demonstrating at funerals, but he might hate bigots. God did not send a hurricane to devastate the Gulf Coast because America is becoming more tolerant of homosexuality, as right-wing preachers shout. One argument is that homosexuality is natural because in occurs as part of nature. Another position is that it is God's designed method of sexual determination that causes homosexuality, and he doesn't hate what he creates. Neither should man.

Male chromosomes are dominate over their female counterparts, and it must be that way in order to prevent the female chromosomes from rejecting all male chromosomes, which would result in only female offspring. And male-chromosome dominance is why men are bigger and stronger than women and why men are more prone to physical endeavors; women to cultural endeavors. For the most part, men like football and ice hockey, women like ballet and figure skating. Men are warriors (even if it's just sending others to war, rather than warring yourself), women are peacemakers. Men are prone to physical crime; if a women commits a crime, it seldom involves violence. Superior male genes are why men try to dominate, lead and control women. We can't help it, it's in our genes.

It should be obvious to anyone that if a man has sperm so weak that his Y chromosome can't do the job it was designed to do, he is a real "girlie man."
