The Nature of God and You
My parents showed me a beautiful sunset when I was five years old
and I told them "it reminded me of God."
Joseph Campbell said that humanity's search for God is encumbered
by conceiving the Absolute in our image. In his book, "An Open
Life", he says: "As soon as you smash the local provincial
god-form, God comes back. The divine lives within you . . . And
what is God? God is a personification of that world-creative energy
and mystery which is beyond thinking and beyond naming."
My most vivid glimpse of Creator occurred in 1997 after a long
session of yoga, breathing exercises, and meditation. While using
the mantra 'OM' with my eyes closed, I suddenly saw golden white
light. Then I smelled a wonderful fragrance. A chorus of voices
chanting OM sounded within and all around me. I felt love,
understanding, and forgiveness of such magnitude that tears
instantly welled up in my eyes. My body started vibrating and
electric energy seemed to rush through my limbs. Throughout all
this, I kept silently repeating OM, but soon the experience was so
intense that I burst out laughing and said, 'Oh my God!' This
multisensory apprehension of the Light "blew my mind."
The following description of Source Energy is, based on the
cumulative evidence, quite accurate. In "Destiny of Souls", Michael
Newton, Ph.D., quotes a female client who was one of the most
advanced souls he had ever interviewed during a spiritual
regression. She described the Presence as: "... it is ... massive, but
soft ... powerful ... yet gentle. There is a breath ... a whisper ... of
sound ... so pure ... the sound creates all ... including light and
energy ... the sound holds this structure ... and makes it move ...
shifting and undulating ... creating everything. It is a
reverberating bell ... then a high-pitched pure humming ... like an
echo of ... A mother ... full of love ... singing to her child."
These descriptions of God are, needless to say, quite different
from those that many of us were taught at an early age. Do the
words 'wrathful, judging, and fearsome' sound familiar? Some
denominations still teach about a God of unfathomable love and
then, in the next instant, warn that this same God will send us to,
or allow us to choose, a fiery hell for eternity.
No wonder there is so much fear, ignorance and confusion in our world!
We need to reconsider our notions about God, to refute half-truths
and mistruths that were taught by religious institutions. The
notion of a vengeful God who watches our every step, ready to smite
us at the least transgression, is refuted by the collective "Soul
Proof" evidence. What good parent could pass his child's finger
over a flame--no matter what the transgression? How can any believe
that our Heavenly Father/Mother could?
We recently watched a NASA documentary that showed film footage
from the Hubble telescope. As the pictures reached the outer
limits of the known physical universe, incredible images appeared.
Interstellar nebulae were spewing forth pods, each with the
potential to spawn new stars and galaxies. Do a web search for
"The Pillars of Creation" and Eagle Nebula to see astonishing
pictures.
When I attended theology school, God was defined as that greatest
and highest power of which we can conceive. So which is the
highest image of Creator you can imagine:
A.) A big bearded man in the sky who gets angry very easily;
destroys those who do not obey or believe in him; only had one son
and one plan for salvation; gets jealous if we worship other gods;
sends us to a fiery eternal hell for eating fish on Friday and a
myriad of other small transgressions OR
B.) a beautiful sunset, creative energy, a mother full of love singing to
her child, a divine force that lives within you, an ongoing creation of new
and wonderful worlds
If you choose (B.), the ramifications for your life are magnificent
and heavenly. It means that, as many near-death experiencers have
reported, that you are one with the One and part of Source. That
knowledge helps you live with love and hope--not fear. It helps you
realize that heaven and eternity are here and now--not someday,
maybe, far-away.
It helps you relax and enjoy the never-ending but
ever-changing journey of life. It helps you realize you are a
wise, infinite, special and powerful being of light, energy, soul,
love, intelligence, spirit, consciousness and awareness.
Sweet!!!
Thank you for sharing this information with others so that more and
more people deeply understand who they are, why they're here, and
what happens after we die. When we know better, we can do better.
May this information help you deeply know and show what a
magnificent being you are.
Live Soulfully,
Mark
