With the recent disclosure of Wal-Mart's directive to its management staff that if they voted Democrat in the upcoming election and the McDonald's directive to its store managers that they can only have their in-store televisions tuned to Fox News because that is the only channel that gives the news straight and honest, we have but two more examples of how corporate America is controlling how American people work and live, by their decree only.
In the case of Wal-Mart, their reasoning for voting anti-Democrat is because should a Democrat get in unions would certainly follow and if that should occur they would have to close stores. Thus the managers as well as the other employees would lose their job. Of course this is a threat, something the NLRB used to enforce, but the most profitable corporation in the United States can do whatever it pleases. If threatened they merely "buy off" whomever should be a threat to their dominance over people.
In McDonald's case while it is true a corporation can dictate within to what policies they wish, but most corporate policies used to consider the satisfaction of their customers. In the McDonald's case a customer requesting another channel is denied. Fox, I believe, is well documented on its extreme right-slant and has been exposed on many occasions of actually fabricating the "news"- in its attempts at brainwashing the public through its propaganda.
These are but two examples of corporatism forcing its will on the population. Of course we didn't even touch the lobbyists and the framers of these so-called "free trade"- agreements in which corporations in which corporations write the laws, enforce the laws, and even litigate the laws without any congressional input.
