The "facts" about the assassination of Benazir Bhutto are shifting faster than sands in the desert right now. From shot to death to no bullet wounds, from blown up to no shrapnel wounds, from heavy police protection to police abandoning their posts, the facts are in flux. Crime evidence has also been destroyed or put beyond reach: Bhutto was buried without an autopsy and the crime scene was hosed down. This just makes the gov't look more suspicious. But the truth is still out there! We have to uncover it, world! Demand the truth! Don't let this one sink into the swamp too!

::::::::

Pirate fantasy
. Was the Musharraf Regime complicit in Bhutto's Assassination?

I have seen and heard enough already to know that there is some giant bullshit going on with the Pakistani Regime of General Musharraf. The Jolly Roger is unfurled again for a possible False Flag Op:

Was this in reality Musharraf eliminating another one of the opposition, simultaneously blaming al Qaeda, and drumming up more support for his regime to fight the endless "War on Terror"?

Here's the latest facts and allegations:

NO OFFICIAL AUTOPSY FOR PAKISTAN'S CRIME OF THE CENTURY (so far)! AND SHE HAS BEEN BURIED. (see below)

NO BULLET OR SHRAPNEL ENTRIES IN HER HEAD NOW BEING REPORTED! HUH? SHE HIT HER HEAD ON THE SUNROOF OF HER CAR APPARENTLY (DOUBLE HUH?) AND MIGHT HAVE BEEN GRAZED BY SHRAPNEL!??? (see below)

POLICEMEN ABANDONED THEIR SECURITY POSTS SHORTLY BEFORE THE ASSASSINATION THURSDAY, ACCORDING TO A JOURNALIST PRESENT AT THE TIME. A CHOREOGRAPHED DANCE OF DEATH? (see below)

THE PAKISTANI REGIME HAS ALREADY DECLARED THE CRIME SOLVED: "AL QAEADA" DID IT. LIGHTING FAST POLICE WORK, ISN'T IT , DESPITE NO AUTOPSY. MILITANT LEADER BAITULLAH MEHSUD IS BEING BLAMED (or is it "framed"?) (see below) (MEHSUD HAS NOW DENIED THIS (CLICK HERE)

JUST IN:

From an Indian Blogger (Sidhusaaheb): The government of Pakistan seems to be doing all that it can to cover up and destroy evidence.

The scene of crime was hosed down as shown on television, destroying vital forensic evidence. The residue of the explosives, fragments of the detonator, etc., among other bits of evidence that might've been recovered, could've helped figure out the kind of bomb it was, besides other vital clues (which can often lead the investigating agencies to the people who made the bomb). EARLY SUNDAY MORNING, DEC 30, 2007: DAWN NEWS, A PAKISTANI ENGLISH LANGUAGE NEWSPAPER, HAS BEEN SENT STILL PHOTOS OF THE GUNMAN WHO SHOT AT BENIZAR BHUTTO FROM SEVERAL METERS. (CLICK HERE FOR PHOTOS) (CLICK HERE FOR ARTICLE OR SEE BELOW)

Police abandoned security posts before Bhutto assassination

12/28/2007 @ 10:56 am

Filed by Nick Juliano

No autopsy performed on body; docs say bullet wounds not found

Police abandoned their security posts shortly before Pakistani opposition leader Benazir Bhutto's assassination Thursday, according to a journalist present at the time, and unanswerable questions remain about the cause of her death, because an autopsy was never performed.

Pakistan's Interior Minister on Friday said that Bhutto was not killed by gunshots, as had been widely reported, and doctors at Rawalpindi General Hospital, where she died, say there were no bullet marks on the former prime minister's body, according to India's IBNLive.com. Furthermore, according to the news agency, there was no formal autopsy performed on Bhutto's body before she was buried Friday.

CNN is now reporting that it wasn't gunshots or shrapnel that killed Bhutto, but that she died from hitting the sunroof of the car she was riding in. The network said sources in Pakistan's Interior Ministry said nothing entered her skull, no bullets or shrapnel.

Apparently there was some kind of lever on the sunroof she was standing through, and she hit her head on that CNN reported Friday morning.

Earlier in the day Interior Minister Hamid Nawaz told a Pakistani news channel, "The report says she had head injuries – an irregular patch – and the X-ray doesn't show any bullet in the head. So it was probably the shrapnel or any other thing has struck her in her said. That damaged her brain, causing it to ooze and her death. The report categorically says there's no wound other than that," according to IBNLive.

Perhaps more shockingly, an attendee at the rally where Bhutto was killed says police charged with protecting her "abandoned their posts," leaving just a handful of Bhutto's own bodyguards protecting her.

"Police officers had frisked the 3,000 to 4,000 people attending Thursday's rally when they entered the park, but as the speakers from Bhutto's Pakistan People's Party droned on, the police abandoned many of their posts," wrote Saeed Shah in an essay published by McClatchy News Service. "As she drove out through the gate, her main protection appeared to be her own bodyguards, who wore their usual white T-shirts inscribed: 'Willing to die for Benazir.'"

While some intelligence officials, especially within the US, were quick to finger al Qaeda militants as responsible for Bhutto's death, it remains unclear precisely who was responsible and some speculation has centered on Pakistan's intelligence service, the ISI, its military or even forces loyal to the current president Pervez Musharraf. Rawalpindi, where Bhutto was killed, is the garrison city that houses the Pakistani military's headquarters.

"GHQ (general headquarters of the army) killed her," Sardar Saleem, a former member of parliament, told Shah at the hospital.

Whatever the case, Bhutto's precise cause of death may never be known because of the failure to administer an autopsy. The procedure was not carried out because police and local authorities in Rawalpindi did not request one, according to IBNLive, but the government plans a formal investigation why this was the case.

Musharraf initially blamed her death on unnamed Islamic militants, but Interior Minister Hamid Nawaz told The Associated Press on Friday that "we have the evidence that al-Qaida and the Taliban were behind the suicide attack on Benazir Bhutto."

He said investigators had resolved the "whole mystery" behind the opposition leader's killing and would give details at press conference later Friday.

Pakistan: al-Qaida behind Bhutto assassination

Hundreds of thousands paid last respects Friday to the opposition leader
MSNBC News Services
updated 11:21 a.m. ET, Fri., Dec. 28, 2007

Al-Qaida and Taliban were behind the assassination of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, Pakistan's interior minister told The Associated Press.

"We have the evidence that al-Qaida and Taliban were behind the suicide attack on Benazir Bhutto," Interior Minister Hamid Nawaz said.

Interior Ministry spokesman Javed Iqbal Cheema said that on Friday the government recorded an "intelligence intercept" in which  "congratulated his people for carrying out this cowardly act."

Cheema described Mehsud as an "al-Qaida leader" and said he was also behind the Oct. 18 bombing against Bhutto's homecoming parade through Karachi that killed more than 140 people.

Mehsud is regarded as the commander of pro-Taliban forces in the lawless Pakistani tribal region South Waziristan, where al-Qaida fighters are also active. This fall, he was quoted in a Pakistani newspaper as saying that he would welcome Bhutto's return from exile with suicide bombers. Mehsud later denied that in statements to local television and newspaper reporters.

Mehsud denies killing Bhutto: Al-Qaida

Agence France-Presse (source)
An alleged Al-Qaida leader Baitullah Mehsud, blamed by the Pakistan government for killing Benazir Bhutto, denied any involvement in her death, his spokesman said on Saturday.

''He had no involvement in this attack,'' spokesman Maulana Omar said in a telephone call. ''This is a conspiracy of the government, army and intelligence agencies.''

The spokesman said he was calling from Pakistan's Waziristan area, a lawless tribal region where Pakistani government forces have been battling Islamist militants.

''It is against tribal tradition and custom to attack a woman,'' Omar said.

He said the transcript released by the government, allegedly of a phone call between Mehsud and a militant discussing Bhutto's death after the killing, was a ''drama'' and expressed sadness over her assassination on Thursday.

He said it would have been ''impossible'' for militants to get through the security cordon around the campaign rally where she was killed.

''Benazir was not only a leader of Pakistan but also a leader of international fame. We express our deep grief and shock over her death,'' Omar said.

Earlier, the Pakistan government had released transcripts of an alleged phone conversation between two Al-Qaida leaders claiming that Benazir was killed by two of their men.

According to the transcripts, the conversation was between alleged senior Al-Qaida leader Baitullah Mehsud and another militant Maulvi Sahib.

The Pakistan Interior Ministry claimed it had intercepted the phone conversation just after the assassination of Benazir Bhutto.

Following is the alleged phone call transcript:

Maulvi Sahib: Congratulations, I just got back during the night.

Baitullah Mehsud: Congratulations to you, were they our men?

Maulvi Sahib: Yes, they were ours.

Baitullah Mehsud: Who were they?

Maulvi Sahib: There was Saeed, there was Bilal from Badar and Ikramullah.

Maulvi Sahib: Ikramullah and Bilal did it.

Baitullah Mehsud: Then congratulations.

Baitullah Mehsud: It was a tremendous effort. They were really brave boys who killed her.

Maulvi Sahib: Mashallah (Thank God). When I come I will give you all the details.

Revealed: Pakistan hosed away scene after Bhutto attack

May have violated law by skipping autopsy

Despite official reports by Pakistan's interior ministry claiming that the government had intercepted congratulatory messages sent by al Qaeda surrounding the assassination of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, a motley of strange occurrences has sparked new suspicion of the government's official story.

On Friday, doctors at Rawalpindi General Hospital, where she died, said that Bhutto had been killed by shrapnel to the head from an explosion, not by two bullets that Bhutto supporters cited in the aftermath of the attack. Bhutto, 54, was killed as in the aftermath of a shooting and suicide bombing as she left a political rally in the city of Rawalpindi.

The government soon changed their story, saying she'd been killed by hitting the sunroof of her LandCruiser after she'd stood up to wave to a crowd. Doctors said there were no bullet marks on the former prime minister's body, and released a limited x-ray of what they said was her skull.

More alarming, however, to Bhutto supporters was the fact no autopsy was conducted prior to burial. The official line -- according to Pakistan's interim prime minister Mohammadmian Soomro -- was that Bhutto's husband had insisted no autopsy be performed.

But according to veteran lawyer Athar Minallah who spoke to McClatchy Newspapers Friday, "an autopsy is mandatory under Pakistan's criminal law in a case of this nature."

"It is absurd, because without autopsy it is not possible to investigate," Minallah told McClatchy's Saeed Shah and Warren Strobel in a little publicized piece. "Is the state not interested in reaching the perpetrators of this heinous crime or there was a cover-up?"

Autopsies are generally not conducted in Islam unless ordered by a court, because the religion calls for burial as quickly as possible. It's unclear whether Bhutto's circumstances would have warranted an exception.

According to the reporters, "the scene of the attack also was watered down with a high-pressure hose within an hour, washing away evidence."

Shah, who reported from the scene Thursday, wrote in a second piece that police rangers charged with protecting her "abandoned their posts" shortly before the bombing, leaving just a handful of Bhutto's own bodyguards protecting her.

"Police officers had frisked the 3,000 to 4,000 people attending Thursday's rally when they entered the park, but as the speakers from Bhutto's Pakistan People's Party droned on, the police abandoned many of their posts," Shah wrote. "As she drove out through the gate, her main protection appeared to be her own bodyguards, who wore their usual white T-shirts inscribed: 'Willing to die for Benazir.'"

Some of Bhutto's supporters were suspect of the "sunroof theory."

A "senior official" of Bhutto's Pakistan People's Party called the claim "false," saying he'd seen at least two bullet marks on her body after the attack.

"It was a targeted, planned killing," BPP's Babar Awan said. "The firing was from more than one side."

Another newspaper also asserted witnesses saw her shot.

Multiple reports said Bhutto had shown disregard for her personal safety by waving to the crowd.

"In her enthusiasm, she got carried away, and exposed herself in ways" she shouldn't have, a former State Department official told Shah.

Pakistan indicated Saturday it would delay January elections because of turmoil caused by Bhutto's death. Protests and looting have left at least 38 people dead.

Updated to include background on autopsies as regards Islam.

From Dawn News, Pakistan:

Telltale images expose fatal security flaws : Benazir’s assassination (source)

 By Bahzad Alam Khan

KARACHI, Dec 29: The controversy over the manner in which former prime minister Benazir Bhutto died in a Dec 27 attack in Rawalpindi deepened on Saturday night when DawnNews TV aired chilling images of an armed assassin taking a shot at her as she acknowledged the cheers of jubilant party activists from the sunroof of her bullet-proof vehicle.

The government has insisted that Ms Bhutto died when her head slammed against her vehicle by the blast from a bomb. But the Pakistan People’s Party has held that she died from bullet wounds.

Shot by an amateur photographer, the images telecast by DawnNews TV make it abundantly clear that there was no security cordon around Ms Bhutto’s vehicle.

They show a young clean-shaven man, wearing a waistcoat and dark glasses, inch inconspicuously towards the slow-moving vehicle of Ms Bhutto. Standing closely behind is a man believed to be the suicide bomber with a piece of cloth draped around his face. The first image catches the duo looking straight into the camera.

Another image shows the sharpshooter open fire on the unsuspecting political leader with remarkable aplomb. He is just a couple of metres away from his target. One of the party activists clinging to the vehicle seems to have spotted the assassin, whose upraised hand carries a gun.

The third image shows activists around the vehicle ducking their heads in reflex, suggesting that the gun has been fired. Unfazed, the assassin is still in their midst.

Crucially, Ms Bhutto has disappeared from the sunroof. And, equally crucially, the suicide bomber has yet to blow himself up.

The unsettling images raise significant questions about the quality of security arrangements made for the former prime minister who narrowly escaped a suicide attack on her homecoming procession on Oct 18.

The fact that an armed assassin managed to get just a couple of metres away from Ms Bhutto clearly gives the lie to the government claim that she had received a VIP security cover.

Also, the new images seem to lend credence to the assertion made by a close aide of Ms Bhutto who insisted that the opposition leader was shot in the head and neck.

According to the Reuters news agency, Sherry Rehman, a PPP spokesperson, said: “She has a bullet wound at the back of her head on the left side. It came out the other (side). That was a very large wound, and she bled profusely through that.”

Ms Rehman prepared the slain leader’s body for burial.

“She was even bleeding while we were bathing her for the burial. The government is now trying to say she concussed herself, which is ludicrous. It is really dangerous nonsense.”

However, the government stuck to its version, saying Ms Bhutto’s party was welcome to exhume her corpse to check.
