I was always impressed by how the Europeans took it upon themselves after World War II to grow enough vegetables so that food would not have to be imported, and I often wondered why the average American could not do the same thing. I came across an article about how the British are once again growing gardens in every corner lot they can find.
Our foreclosed homes could be used for community gardens or empty plots that are supposed to have the proper lawn prescribed by their community rules should be turned into food producing gardens. I think that this would not only produce nutritious food that is so lacking in the American diet, but I think that it would get the average American back in touch with the frugal integrity that our forefathers and mothers had. click here
