Fear of Ink

::::::::

The orange alert from the arrest of the Ninja-7 has been reduced to yellow. But the invisible ink is still there with its message of "be alert; watch your back." The Bush team is playing a shell game with the public - keep your eye on the ball. But the ball is controlled by Rove and the Foxes guarding the hen house. The Administration hauls out the tricks whenever they start to lose control of the public dialogue.

Thursday and Friday were actually terrible press days for Bush & Co., but you'd never know it from the mainstream media. The bad news for Bush - the press refused to hold back reporting about the banking records scandal, Iraq is disintegrating so badly that the new president had to declare a state of emergency following Bush's surprise visit (surprise only because it was too risky to announce beforehand) and Afghani President Karzai told anyone who would listen that the US hasn't made a dent in terrorism and the situation is deteriorating there - was shoved aside by our law and order attorney general as he frog marched out to announce the indictment of some loose links to 'terror.' This is the Rovian concept of fair and balanced, part of the eye-for-an-eye mentality that dominates the faith-based justice dept. We ought to be scared, but not of the code red; it's the neo-reds who have taken over the government who are truly frightening.
