This article identifies one congressman who is looking out for OUR interests.

::::::::

President Ronald Reagan said about government:

"The government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it."

It is obvious that the government has not changed since Reagan was President.  Rather than wasting time pointing fingers at who or what party is responsible for bloated mess we call a government we should support every effort we can find that is trying to reign in the bailouts, the earmarks, the subsidies, the unnecessary taxation, the ever-growing bureacracies, and the ever increasing control government has over every aspect of our lives.  We need to end pork as we know it.

With a new administration there is hope that someone, somewhere in government particularly at the top, will say  "I'm as mad as hell and am not going to take it anymore."   I have been looking for such a person for a long time.  I do not care if he or she is a Republican, Democrat, Libertarian, or Independent as long as he or she is honest, straightforward, and sincerely cares about looking out for OUR interests in Congress.  I have only found one individual who does this.  Represenative Jeff Flake walks the walk and talks the talk every day as far as I can tell.  He is even hated by other congresspersons of both parties for trying to block legislation that is bad for the country but good for some special interest.    He sometimes is a lonely voice out there.

Rep Flake has recently started a website dedicated to providing information about pork barrel spending.   I wrote to him urging him to use this website and his newsletters to shine a light on earmarks as well - who sponsors them, what they are for, who benefits from them, and how much the beneficiary donated to the sponsor.   I want him to shine some light on these things so we can see what is going on behind closed doors or in the dark of night.

I am not on Jeff Flake's staff.  I have not donated a nickle to him.  I do not even live in his district.  If there are others out there like Rep Flake I would like to know so I can support them too.  We need to let the Congress know we need some real change out of them.  We need for them to look out for OUR interests.

If you are interested in checking Rep Flake's website and/or signing up for his newletters it is http://www.porkparade.com. ; It is a campaign website sponsored by Rep Flake's campaign but I do not see any real hardcore campaigning going on on it.  If you feel differently, say so.  It looks like the website is wobbly and trying to find its legs.  Hopefully it will improve and become a force for good.

Conservative prolife anti-death penalty semi-pro gun tree hugger. Believe that less government is good government, government cannot solve anyone's personal problems, the government taking money from one group of people and giving it to another (more...)
