A response to the false rhetoric spread by groups lavisly funded by big business.

::::::::

I am writing this in response to false rhetoric spread by groups that are lavishly funded by big business.  They state that The Employee Free Choice Act opposes the secret ballot.  It does not.

  1. The EFCA increases enforcement and penalties against Employers who engage in unfair labor practices as defined by the National Labor Relations Board.
  2. It closes current loopholes that allow employers to engage in delays, and tactics of intimidation, against workers and Union Organizers.  It provides for mediation and arbitration if an agreement is not reached within 90 days for a first contract
  3. It provides another option in addition to The Secret Ballot.  The guaranteed option is called majority sign up.  If a majority of the bargaining unit choose to sign authorization Cards authorizing a Union to bargain on their behalf it demands that the Union be recognized.

The current system has resulted in an economy built on income inequality where consumers have low wages and high debt while CEO's run their companies into the ground only to escape with golden parachutes leaving the burden of their mismanagement on taxpayers and consumers.  It’s understandable why the opposition will spend large amounts to deceive the people.  It is what they do quite well.

Union Workers on avg. receive 30% higher wages.  They are 59% more likely to have employer-provided health coverage and four times more likely to have pensions.  They also spend a larger portion of their disposable income helping their local economies.
