Environmental activist and actor Ed Begley Jr. took part in a raucious exchange with Fox news host Stuart Varney over global warming, with both men chattering over each other and Begley losing all composure.
While many conservatives are using Begley's ridiculous behavior to illustrate the emotionalism and irrationality of leftist global warming proponants, it is important tonot characterize Varneyas some stalwart of truth and limited government. As usual, the establishment media strives to have people pick "sides' whilekeeping supposed dissidents on the reservation, falsly promotingthe Bristish born FOX news analyst Varney as the reasonable one.
While Varney rightly exposes the fraud of global warming, he otherwise serves as a staunch propagandist for the government lies, wars,and empire on Rupert Murdoch's Fox News. Varney, for example, on the day of the July 7, 2005 purported terrorist attacks in London, participated in a televised exchange with Fox news' Brian Kilmeade in which Kilmeaderemarked on Prime Minister Tony Blair's response to the 7/7 attacks, saying the attacks work to our advantage.
- "And that was the first time since 9-11 when they should know, and they do know now, that terrorism should be Number 1. But it's important for them all to be together. I think that works to our advantage, in the Western world's advantage, for people to experience something like this together.."
Establishment man Varney replied "It puts the Number 1 issue right back on the front burner right at the point where all these world leaders are meeting. It takes global warming off the front burner. It takes African aid off the front burner. It sticks terrorism and the fight on the war on terror, right up front all over again."
In 2006, Varney continued his shameless promotion of undeclared wars and empire, absurdly claiming that the Iraq war is in America's best interest and that we are 'winning':
"Well, let me put out something positive about Iraq, if I may for a second. Look, we took the fight to the enemy. We divided the enemy. The enemy is now fighting itself. America's interest is surely being well-preserved and well-protected. We are in a fact, in a way, winning and preserving our interests" [video]
Begley, on the other hand, while promoting the left's tyranny based on the fraud of global warming and promotion ofthe global carbon tax, does promote the truth about 9/11/01, hosting a symposium in New York on September 11, 2004 in New York entitled Confronting the Evidence - A Call to Reopen the 911 Investigation. That event included renowned speakers Dr. David Ray Griffin, David vonKleist, Barry Zwicker, Webster Tarpley, Dr Robert Bowman, Christopher Bollyn, and many others. With other mainline antiwar leftists such as Mike Farrell insisting that the government had no role in 9/11, Begley should get some credit for at least broachingsuch a key subject.
In the most recent exchange with Begley which started with a discussion regarding the hacked e-mails of global warming proponants, Fox's Varneyasked Begley's take on the matter. It degenerated into acontentious and amusingclip which in the end, amounts to little more than two establishments men acting in a circus show, with each promoting their own brand of tyranny.
Begley: I think the science is very clear on global warming. .. If these scientists have done something wrong, it will be found out and thei peers will determine it. .. if there are some, cooking of the books that will come out."
Varney: "Senator Inhofe has a list of 700 climate scientists who say this global warming. theyve got problems with the whole theory of global warming. i put it to you...
Begley: "theyre not 700 climate scientists, theres weathermen and other people in there. there are some climate scientists, but peer review is the key..
Varney: "The science is not in
Begley: "it is in!"
Varney: "no.
Begley: "Stewart quit saying that..
Varney: "The debate is not over sir
Begley: "Peer reviewed studied. go to science magazine folks, nature magazine. go to somebody you trust. national geographics. dont get it from you or me..dont get it from rush limbaugh or glenn beck. scientists people with phd after their name.
AT 1:44 Begley starts aggressively pointing and figeting in his chair while arguing the metis of a climate scientists vs a physist who the host referenced.
Varney: "There's no question whatsoever?
Begley: "you can be skeptical , skeptical, but not denial. you guys..
Varnney: "the debate is over?
Begley: "on global warming? the debate is very clear its out there in the scientific community.. community. read peer reviewed studies, peer reviewed thats all you need to do, dont get it from you or me.
The host then remarks that begley lives the 'green life' on a day to day basis personally and asks "why do you have to impose it on me".

They then continue to talk over each other for about 20 seconds, huff and puffing, with Begley concluding "You should have an energy audit ion your home to make it more effective.. I just had an enegry audit on my home and I reduced my bills by half. why dont you have an energy audit?" They then move on to light bulbs.
Varney: I am not allowed to buyincandescent light bulbs
"when are you not allowed to buy those? what YEAR are you not allowed to buy these,.. what year in the future?" Begley asks, pointing his finger in the hosts face.
Varney: "does it matter? the governments telling me i may not have incandescent light
Begley:"its telling us we cant have smoggy vehicles too the air in LA is half the smog.. half the smog, half the smog..
Varney: "Right into my house? Ed Begely im surprised at you. what kind of American believes that the government should come right into a private home
Begley: "nobodys going to come into your house. we're going to houses...
They then begin the hystrionics again, babbling inconherently over each other:
