OpEdNews - Diary: ENTIRE ORWELL MOVIE, 1984, NOW ONLINE

Does life imitate art? Have modern nation-states been imitating the totalitarian world George Orwell painted in his seering novel, 1984, at least on a gratuitous level? Or was Orwell simply a prophet, his art becoming a premonition of life in an increasingly fear-ridden, control-freak world where the masses are herded like steers on a cattle drive by those with the cattle prods, or tasers, all the way to the slaughterhouse? Either way, some of the features of sophisticated modern police-states throughout the world clearly parallel what Orwell predicted, some more than others.
