Or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love My Life.

::::::::

In light of the events unfurling in this world, I have come to some realizations. Things are going to get a lot worse. The police state will become more and more oppressive. The Bill of Rights was obliterated in only a few years time. Imagine what else they have coming for us! Globally, things are coming to a head. Civil unrest. Depression. Extreme weather. The Works.

Resources like gas and food, which were once taken for granted, will become scarce. The country’s infrastructure will continue to deteriorate as the government takes more control. And as populaces grow poorer, they become restless. Chaos ensues and people take up arms against their neighbors in order to secure their futures for another few weeks. Some might think I am exaggerating, but they are probably just not living in the America where this is already a reality.

I am currently in the process of setting up a fund with some friends to buy a bit of land (hopefully fertile) somewhere in the middle of nowhere. If the american avalanche continues unabated, then we plan on moving out to this land to live a modest human existence, close to the land. Life would be simpler, but also better. We would not need to worry about how many dollars we possess and owe. Someone’s estimated worth would not be in how many notes he or she can accumulate from the Federal Reserve, but what use he or she is to the betterment and well-being of the community. An Additional benefit is that our productivity would no longer be used to fund a terrible war. In essence, it would be a group of people living by the teachings of Jesus, rather than just talking about them. As we would bring others we have known and trust into our community, we would be able to grow and develop a more elaborate economy and set of laws (I like the Constitution, personally).

This fun thing about this idea is that it is scalable and anyone can do it. All that needs to happen is that someone starts up a forum. As people talk, more and more might decide that they would no longer prefer to live under tyranny and oppression. Someone might make a webpage and start up a fund. Almost as if by magic, people would start dropping their dollars into a dream. An infrastructure would begin to pop up as people assume leadership positions. They would pour their hearts and souls into it because it would be an effort to ensure a peaceful and prosperous future along with others of a similar sentiment. Of course, where to set up is of utmost importance, and might be difficult to determine with a myriad of meteorological occurrences in our near future. But people are smart and can do a much better job of ensuring their futures than governments can.

Of course, this is only Plan B. But Plan B is extremely important and should always be well thought-out and prepared as Plan A usually fails. In this case, Plan A should be getting one's favorite candidate of peace elected. The only two in the race are Dennis Kucinich and Ron Paul (my favorite).

Otherwise, it is on to Plan B for me!

If there is one conditional that I have learned from a Kevin Costner movie, it is: if you build it, they will come.

Though he is of noble blood, Ferdinand has no desire to fight or rule. He would prefer to explore, to ponder, to love, and to smell the flowers. Nevertheless, Ferdinand is a bull and he has horns.
