Yes, the candidate is tired. Yes, his family is stressed. Yes, this is an important night in a child's social development.
Yes, this man is very likely the next President of the United States.
This is an utter, abject failure on the part of the candidate's handlers to communicate to him the importance of staying within his bubble. It is not only unsafe to be out walking around with your child on Halloween night, if you are a President, it is a national security incident. If you are a Presidential candidate in a contentious media battle with the forces of evil, you are at heightened risk
The photograph of Obama and Sasha running away from the incident is a potentially image-marring event because there is nothing but contrast to set it off.
Risk management failure. Inexperience and miscommunication. Learn from this, Senator Obama, or you will be the next James Earl Carter.
