I'm in DC today, learning to use some of the activism tools with http://www.democracyin action.org the org that provides the software for OEN mailings and fundraising.
I stopped at the two Occupy DC locales last night. They both report they're growing and both were busy and vivacious. Here's an image of the media tent at Occupy DC at McPherson Park. This is the view from K street.

I love that Scott Olsen, the Marine veteran seriously injured by Oakland police is becoming a hero of the Occupy movement. Maybe, if and when the occupy movement creates its own currency, Scott will be on it.
I actually hung out with the media people inside the tent at Occupy DC and they were VERY excited that they're working on a print newspaper. Here's the crew:

The folks at Occupy DC could use help getting the newspaper printed. They told me they're talking to a printer who might give them a discount. I told them they should aim higher. Is there a printer out there who will print the paper for free, or for cost, or anyone who can provide the paper for free, or donate what it takes to pay for the print run?
Coleen Rowley dropped me an email asking me to reprint this article. I did. She thanked ME. It's a GREAT article. Thank YOU Coleen and thanks Mary. We hope to see more from.

The Great Hunt of today takes various forms with the whole world as hunting grounds: there are fishing expeditions to identify domestic enemies, hunts to apprehend undocumented people and suspected terrorists, and hunts for declared enemies in other countries.
Another reason I'm attending the training is to learn how to do fundraising. Maybe I'll learn some ways so I don't have to ask every day. But now, today, that's not where we are yet. OEN needs to raise about $160 a day, 30 days a month. It doesn't seem like that much, but we always struggle to do it. Can you help us make that budget just today?
