Regrettably, by declaring that Hillary Clinton is a "monster" in a London interview with the Scotsman, Samantha Power has become a liability for the Obama campaign. It doesn't matter how much those opposed to Hillary may have lapped it up when Ms. Power claimed that "she is stooping to anything." Not to mention "The amount of deceit she has put forward is really unattractive."

For those unfamiliar with Ms. Power, she is a Pulitzer Prize-winning author who left her job as a professor at Harvard's Kennedy Center to volunteer for Obama answering phones. In another
interview, this time with Jon Weiner at Huffington Post last week, she said, "I thought, if you're interested in helping change the world in your small way. . . even if I was just answering his phones, I would have more impact than writing these big books that I put out."

She's since become one of Obama's main foreign policy advisors. Now Ms. Power may have become a "Problem from Hell" (the title of her classic book) for the Obama campaign. But bear in mind that she is likely the last person to toss around the word "monster" lightly. Her book is about genocide!

It would be a shame if Ms. Powers were forced to leave. She remains the answer to the question, "Is is ever okay to intervene in another country?" Answer: "When genocide begins to rear its ugly head."
