I am tired of arguments over this war, and all of the lies that have come out of so many people's mouths. This is getting more and more like Vietnam every day. God, I wish that people would learn. Didn't the Nixon Era teach us anything?

::::::::

I had a two hour argument with a co-worker yesterday. He told me that "Hating Bush" was the reason that we not winning in Iraq. He told me that he has never seen so much hate for one man. He said that the left was "full of hate". This he explained was because they couldn't get over the 2000 election. Maybe some of what he said is true. I still can't get over the 2000 elections. I believe, to the core of my being, that they were stolen, but that is beside the point. I do hate Bush. I hate him for the way in which he talks to me. I hate him for the needless death he has caused. I hate him because he knows how stupid the American people are to accept his crazy explanations of why we are at war with Iraq.

He acts with the consent of people that are afraid. The men of this country act with bravado, claiming that they just want to kill some terrorists, as they sport their "Terrorist Hunting Permit" on the back windows of their pick-ups. Meanwhile they are afraid, they are afraid that the terrorists got this close, that they actually got into this country and killed almost 3,000 people. The women are outwardly afraid. Especially the sheltered housewives that have young children. They had always trusted that America would keep them and their children safe. This time they didn't. They want to see a sign that the government is waking up and taking steps to keep them and their children safe.

This conniving, ruthless bastard knows this. He knows that it's easy to get frightened people to do what you want them to do. He wanted permanent U.S. Military bases in the Middle East. He wanted ready access to oil in the event that we have to go to war and people like the Saud family or Hugo Chavez turns off their spigots to us. While he's at it, it's a good chance for him and his powerful friends to make some big petrol-dollars. This isn't something he just "thought-up" after 9/11.

I don't believe that 19 scared Arabs that worked out of a "Sleeper Cell" were the only people behind 9/11. I'm not saying that they didn't participate. I'm not saying that they did. I will say that if NORAD was running an exercise during the so-called "attack", that would have been very unusual. I was in Air-defense for 12 years and we never, ever ran an exercise except at night. The reason that we never did an exercise at night was that we used a hell of a lot of electronic warfare. I'm talking about sine-wave jamming, chaff. Spoofers, and dozens of other types of jamming that would have interfered with commercial aircraft. We usually also ran those excercises on week-ends, but not all the time.

I don't believe that a 747 hit the Pentagon. Nobody ever saw it, there was no wreckage from it, and I can't believe it "disintegrated". Some days later, when people questioned this, a picture of a wrecked engine appeared. Also, that wreck in Pennsylvania didn't happen as they said. If that plane went down in that field, there would have been bodies and blood and wreckage all over the place...there wasn't. How can they explain all of this? Sorry, I'm 56 years old and I've spent 20 years in Air Defense in the Army. I've been all over the world, I'm not buying it. If I had a loved one on that plane in Pennsylvania, I'd be banging on the FAA's door demanding every piece of evidence they had.

This administration is evil to the core. They tried to overthrow Chavez, but they couldn't. They have made him look like a bad guy, but in fact he is a patriot when it comes to his own people. If I lived in Venezuela, that's what I would want in a president. Because Bush and his minions don't like him, that's no reason to try to subvert his government. That's what this country has been doing for centuries. Subverting governments that we don't like and causing revolutions ion other countries like we have some kind of "divine right" or some kind of "mandate" to do that. We don't. We are just one nation in a community of nations. That is something that the American government can't accept. Just because we are the mightiest nation-state, doesn't mean that we can rule the world. People in our government miss one very important fact. It's the same important fact that despotic governments always miss. We cannot defeat all the other nations on Earth if they decided that they have had enough of us! It is just not possible. Just accept this Bush, and try to live with other nations.

Something that most Presidents, Kings and Dictators forget is that they rule at the will of the people. Maybe a hundred years ago, that wasn't true. In some countries that still isn't true today, but in this country it is true. This lie about if we don't beat them there we'll have to fight them here is ridiculous. If they want to try to fight us here, Iraq has nothing to do with it. They could fight us here in this country today! I would feel better if we had spent that 350 billion dollars that Bush wasted on border security and salaries to inspect cargo ships, and to upgrade NORAD. What has Iraq got to do with it? The only thing Bush wants from Iraq is Military bases and oil.

Maybe, just maybe, Bush could have embraced Hugo Chavez as a man of his people and negotiated a good deal for oil. I know I'm naive and that Bush doesn't do things that way, but isn't it time he started? His double-dealing and black ops have all been miserable failures. He can't chew gum and walk at the same time. He would be better off trying to do things honestly because he's a bad crook.

So as far as my argument with my friend, I'm going to send this to him. Why he says we hate him because he had caused the death of so many people is beyond me. Still, I know what he will say, he'll say that what I said here isn't true and that I don't know what I'm talking about. When I mentioned that Bush had a 20% approval rating he told me it was because of the "hate" crowd. I guess I'm part of that "hate" crowd. I hate being taken for an idiot by a moron.

The Greenville Anti-War Society believes that the 3,000th soldier will be killed either New Year's Eve or early New Years Day. We will be lighting 3,000 candles in the shape of a star. If you would like to participate, e-mail me.
