In regards to an opednews piece yesterday, where the author states the Reagan deficits didn't matter

::::::::

I read a piece from a regular contributing author on opednews yesterday where they claim that the Reagan deficits didn't matter.

This could not be further from the truth.

For eight years under the Reagan administration, there existed hundreds of billions of $'s in budget deficits the country had accumulated. Much of it being wasteful Pentagon programs, such as the "Star Wars" anti-missile system that still can't hit anything without pre-trajectory information.

Ronald Reagan and his bloviating about an "Evil Empire" had not one iota to do with the collapse of the former USSR, but everything to adding not only hundreds of billions of $'s in deficits to the total accumulated federal debt, with millions of $'s in interest upon it that your great-grandchildren will still be only paying a fraction on.

One need not forget about the trillion $ bailout of the S & L industry, of which the Bu$h I son, Neil was involved in the one billion $ bailout of Silverado Savings and Loan in Denver.

Who is now peddling "COW's" or Curriculum On Wheels, that are expensive, unproductive ways of teaching to primary school children. With Barbara Bu$h declaring in her Katrina donation that this money must be spent on these programs to receive any of it.

One can manipulate data and numbers any way they want to meet the criteria they desire, so declaring Reagan deficits to GDP is not make a good mathematician, for the monies accrued were just offset to a future generation of "Loved Ones".

I always enjoy goading a die-hard Republican, who brags about the "Free Market" while demanding "Smaller" government and "Less" federal spending. We are currently experiencing the results of the "Financial Wizards", who have wrecked the economy who now demand a 700+ billion $ bailout to ensure they receive their golden parachutes before the next house of cards tumbles.

While the GOP "Greed & Oppression Party" have bloated the size of government and have had the biggest budget deficits in the history of the country.

I find it rather dis-ingenious for someone to now ridicule a former work associate, when their behavior has not changed in the past 28 years or more.

I keep reminding those that if the Reagan administration had been Impeached, with trials of Treason leveled against them, for the Iran-Contra weapons for cocaine scandle. Then there would not be the ability for the self-appointed Bu$h II cabal to have hijacked the Executive for the past eight years.

We can thank Ronald Reagan's "Freedom Fighter's" Saddam Hussein and Osma Bin Laden, who have been re-labeled as "Terrorist's" for even more wasted monies thrown at both Desert Storm I and II and the farce War Of Terror, with it costing trillions, billions unaccounted for, while millions of innocent have been killed.

Try explaining to your credit card company that your balance doesn't matter, when compared to your income level of 28 years ago to your spending habits, you think they are going to forgive of of this debt load, or pass it on to your children?

Stanimal is ??? I hear cries for freedom elsewhere, while the US becomes less so. I hear support for free markets, then demanding a bailout due to incompetence. I roll my eyes at those that accuse others being oppressed while the US has and (more...)
