Dear People of All Stripes,
I guess with all the events occurring here the past few days I'd run out of steam before I knew it, so sorry to say that quite early yesterday, instead of mailing this out, I conked out! Slept all the way 'til 6 this morning! The 8.0 earthquake, of course, occurred in Congress. There is a need to act quickly, get word to all reps -in no uncertain terms!- that the next round must rescue the economy from the bottom up!
There is a GOOD, comprehensive plan available, ready to be submitted, and others also, at least one other ready to go, and several were in the works the last I had the chance to look, a couple days ago. We must get this type of legislation going LIVE, into debate on the House and Senate floor! The first bailout scam will not work, there will be more, and they will be back for more, so we must be ready with better alternatives already in process before they get there with the next round! On this round just past, no alternatives were allowed any consideration whatsoever, so if we are to have much better alternatives considered, it better start right now! Read between the lines a bit here to help protect your community! Please skip on down to the 10/08/08 (green) headliner first and watch it immediately if you haven't already seen it by now. The webpage link TitanicBailout was one that had been started after the Senate vote, for sending to a few Reps., to get them the copy of that AMI bill, plus give them some 'stuff ' to have ready at hand to help them enlist others to stand steady on the NO vote. The vote was then rushed so fast that there wasn't time, so it was sent off then in the AM with as much as had been put in it by then, Friday 10/3, then the 'sold out' was added later when, by 2 PM EST, noon MDT, the House had already voted and passed it, sent it right over and it was signed, zip-zip by about 2:30 PM EST. That just may have set a record for the shortest time between yay vote and signing ever!
From here-out, let us preserve what we have! Please do get together with friends, neighbors, relatives and discuss protecting and preserving Mainstreet as first consideration above all else! Please implore people to get active on this right away so that we may get new and better legislation into action as QUICKLY as it possibly can get there! Tossing peanuts to the peanut gallery with another "economic stimulus package", sending little checks to mollify us will only add more to the debt and put very little unsupported paper money in our pockets 'for now', to be 'spent', feeding corporates, while supporting nothing of Real Value to sustain us through the hard, rebuilding times ahead. No more trickle down 2 B p'd on and T'd off! No further intervention supported by those from outside the community level that is not aimed directly at the roots, keeping people in their homes and protecting our communities from abandonment. With our efforts at local levels, where Mainstreet jobs/small bus. has always provided most of the work that fuels the REAL economy anyway, we can do it ourselves! No more "blue & red" or any other divisions and subdivisions, lets get together, stay together, keep it together, people working together, and let's get ON with it, Here and Now!
