I never thought I'd say this, but God, Paul, your incessant flacking for Hillary is really getting tiresome. At this point, she's all but endorsed McCain if Obama gets the nomination. Maybe you're pulling for a Clinton-Lieberman ticket.
Look, I'm from Ohio, okay? Much of what you say about the vote here is true. But I can tell you, most of the people who voted for Clinton have no better clue about what her economic proposals are than they do about general relativity. But the blue-collar economy here has been devastated, and some people simply associate the name "Clinton" with better times and want to go back to that. Would that it was that simple. But to suggest that we should choose our nominee based on the least sophisticated among us is kind of beneath you. (And by the way, you might want to stay up-to-date on the NAFTA flap. It seems it was the Clinton people doing most of the double-talking.)
I think it's true that things have gotten to where either result will alienate some voters to the point of staying home or crossing over in November. But if we're going to get all practical about it, Clinton's voters are going to be dead soon. Obama's will be around for a couple generations.
