Which dems might they be? Dems from the DNC that, along with the RNC, wrested control of "presidential debates", making them controlled charades? Or from the pro-NAFTA Democratic Leadership Council, so committed to "market-based solutions" and so behind the 1996 Telecommunications Act that further secured corporate control of media? Or "spokespersons" for Nancy Pelosi who pressed Kucinich (Pelosi plus AIPAC?: an interesting linkage) to stop his impeachment effort?
In every online poll in recent months that drew progressives, Dennis Kucinich won by a country mile - the same Kucinich pilloried (or, to use a new verb, "McKinneyed") by his own Democratic Party that is now courting progressive media. Legislators that progressives long for are such disobedient problems for "democratic leadership" that they must be ignored, then flogged, and finally pruned from the Party like unwanted limbs. Just imagine, then, how troubling must be all these unmanageable progressive information sources and linkages such as OpEdNews, TruthDig, Dissident Voice, and the like.
What to do? Why, invite them into the fold. It seems to work. The "forces of moderation", after all, have in recent years made inroads into traditionally "progressive" print media (
