Those of us who are concerned about election integrity may notice several articles, including one at the top of the page, urging people to sign Nancy Tobi's letter to Congress. The Minutemen have signed it, will you? I've asked that my signature be removed.

::::::::

I understand that they have a well-thought out strategy that has a chance of success and are seeking all the support that they can get. My problem is that I cannot allow my signature to be on the same page as anything supported by the Minutemen. I'm sure that both Nancy and Bev despise the Minutemen's ideology. But they accepted their endorsement because they want and need all the support they can get. Well, I have a petition that I'm going to download soon and send to Dennis Kucinich, with copies to other legislators. It asks that all machines be removed from our elections processes: Read and Sign Petition Here I have not asked large organizations to endorse it, and I would not accept the endorsement of any organization I despise, such as the Minutemen. Nancy's letter has about 1,000 signatures, while mine only has 433. But among those signatures are some of the most intelligent and principled people in the honest elections movement. I'm not asking anyone not to sign the Tobi letter. That's your personal decision. I signed it myself early on, and only asked to have my signature removed today, when I learned that it had been endorsed by the Minutemen. But when one is operating from what they wish others to perceive as a principled stance, it helps a lot to adhere to one's principles. --Mark
