It appears that we need a coordinated effort to hold the mortgage lenders accountable. My mother in Texas has a home on the market that she cannot afford and has been waiting for months for the lender to comply with the Make Home Affordable Act and review her loan for modification. I urged her to contact her Congressman in order to see what could be done. She was provided a form to complete and the aide indicated that Congressman Marchant gets requests of this nature "all the time." I don't know what the lenders are thinking, but one thing is for certain -- they have no intention of complying with this Act if they can get away with it. Coordinated action is needed to force Congress to press the issue.
